Hello!  I'm opening up my shop soon and I'm shopping around for equipment.  I don't have a multi-function machine, so I thought I'd just buy handheld equipment here and there.  Can anyone tell me exactly what ultrasonic does during a facial?  I've searched the forums but I wasn't sure.  I found this one:

It seems to have ultrasonic and LED.  I'm familiar with LED, as we used one from Skinborn when I was in esthetic school.  Can anyone advise on this?

Thanks in advance!!!!!

Hello,

It all depends what type of ultrasonic you use. I've been using one that is called Epiwave and it is amazing, the first modality will deeply Exfoliate the skin, the second one will open a pathway down to the cells for easy product penetration, and the last modality is the healing part where you'll use an ultrasound gel to cool, heal, and recharge the cells.... it might seem a lot to do but it is totally worth it.  Everybody that try it loved it. You might want to read a bit more about it. Word of advise make sure that whatever you choose, you'll be able to do all the modalities, I've seen some equipment that are called ultrasonic however they won't infuse the product just Exfoliate, so choose wisely.

Hope this help.

Thank you lliadys!

November - that is an ultrasonic massager used to penetrate product and stimulate the skin. It really isn't worth paying $150 for.  They are all over ebay for about $40.

What you want to look at is an Ultrasonic Skin Spatula that exfoliates and penetrates.

Some of the tabletop models are quite expensive - like the Dermasound

Go check out Shelley Hancock's site for info and videos. She sells a very affordable handheld

Thanks for the info, Cindy!  I thought this one might be different because it seems like it might have LED included.

Definitely look at Shelley show and tell website. I am an holistic esty and the small machines I've bought, I LOVE. Skin spatula and led are amazing!

Thank you Amy!
