I am the only esthetician in a very large salon and I just noticed that a stylist is advertising that she sells it. I know nothing about this line. Please share your opinion. I'm a little frustrated by it honestly.

All of the MLM companies like this one are moving in on nail places, hair salons, etc because they know those people know nothing about skin care so they believe the hype from the person selling it.  They probably make it sound easy like Hey you can sell this and not even be an Esthetician...just ask the client what their skin type is and use the line that suits their complaint.  There are numerous nail salons using NuSkin...one that I was even doing facials at and they tried to get me to use it....uumm no thanks...then they woman had the nerve to try to sell it to my mother who gets her nails done there.  I was so mad!! 

Oh wow I know you were upset. Anytime my mom see a commercial on t.v. or hear a ad, she call herself "getting more info to help me out". I remember when I told her I was looking for a microderm, she ordered the one thats on t.v. and told me she had a suprise for me. Come to find out it was that. Lol. I thank her for wanting to help, but some of the things she hear about just give me a good laugh.

Oh I would be pretty ticked off if I was in your position. Maybe you should start selling hair products because you can go to Maly's or Cosmoprof and buy hair products. I wonder what that stylist would say to you??? :)

I went to a charity// hair show event back in Novenber and they had a lot of tables set up that was selling clothing and jewerly, and of course hair stuff. I saw in the corner a table that said "dermatologist" so i got super excited and went over there to see what they were selling. Come to find out it was Rodan & Fields.The woman had me take a skin quiz and it asked questions like..." Do you have oily skin?" "Do you have acne?' and obviously it leads you to their acne line. The seller dsnt even needs to know anything about skin. lol Its kind of funny to me . I was asking the lady very detailed questions about the products without asking if she was an esthetician..and all she kept saying was" ill email you that." Its like MaryKay ...they try to get you to sign up so they can get points and what not. One even told me that she makes six figures..... RRIIIIIGHTTTT. Anywho ..i think its ridiculous that just anyone can sell this stuff when they dont even know what the ingredients are!Now they wont stop calling me to join them!!!!

Also, why is your salon allowing her to sell///promote her products when (if ) you guys sell  skin products?? Maybe that is something you should speak to a manager about ??? That should not be allowed.  And I love Diane's idea!!  :))

I am an Esthetician and a Rodan & Fields consultant. It is a great company and have great support tools online including nurses available with any questions. I was first introduced to this line at a networking group and initially against the Direct Marketing model. Then I tried the products and got great results immediately and was sold.

I am actually trying to incorporate the line into my business as home care option, because it has shown such great results and is easy to use for the client.

I understand the hairdresser wanting to promote it, but that is tricky having having you as an esthetician in the space as well and do understand you not being comfortable with that. In the end you most likely have more upfront knowledge and if you provide great services, the clients will most likely go with you for advice.
