Hello Estheticians,

I've been an Esthetician for a few years now, and am expanding my role into a medical spa.  The product lines we currently use here are Skin Ceuticals and Obagi.  I personally use a couple of Skin Ceuticals products, and like them ok...but I'm now looking for a new line to offer for facials.  I was looking into contacting the local Yonka rep to learn more about that line.  Does anyone has any pro's or con's using Yonka?  I have only heard good feedback from a few people who have used it.  I have not used it though and am hoping to get some samples before I start using it on clients.   I also have some experience using Epionce, and like this product as well.  Any feedback about this topic is much appreciated, I know there are SO many skincare lines out and how do you possibly pick which one to invest in??  Thank you in advance for pointing me in some sort of direction.

I have personally never used Yonka but I haven't heard many good things about it. People have said that its expensive and not effective. I also read some things that it had harmful ingredients that can do long-term damage like breakdown collagen and elastin.
Like I said, I've never used it so this isn't first hand knowledge but just what I've read and heard. Hope this helps you in some way. :)

Thank you for your response.  What skincare line do you use?

I mainly use Skin Script and love it! I see great results and my clients love it too. They always comment on the smells. Not offensive or overwhelming, just pleasant.

Try looking at Dermaquest.

i have been a Lic Esty for 30 years, and I have used it in my solo Skincare practice for over 9 years and love it. Very nice ingredients, many actives including high percentages of peptides. Yonka is nice, smells very aromatic, but not sure it has the ability to compete as an Anti Aging heavy hitter...I used it years ago.

Thank you for your response, I'm checking out the link you sent me.  So would you say this is a good line for just relaxation facials and also treatment facials?  Because I know some clients come in and just want a nice relaxing facials.  How are you the scents with these products? Thanks!

It's an excellent line for results ..whether you doing a clinical facial or a relaxation facial. I lean towards being results oriented but I strive to make my Facials are wonderful experience. I do extraction 90% of the time but my clients tend to drift of at that point. The products are pleasant . They don't add fragrance to the line, but that never impeded my ability to make a client feel like they are getting an excellent treatment.
Try these ideas... Put a few drops of aromatic toner into your water bowl for when your cleansing/rinsing.
On eyepads. Or a lavender scented eye pillow. Or a microwaved heated flax pack that has a scent under there neck. Try an aromatherapy blend on neck and shoulders to give a waiving scent up to the nose, without applying scents onto the face. With a very sensitive skin type, I may even apply a relaxing aromatic blend onto my wrist so it's noton her skin, thus experience without harm.
I do incorporate other hand picked parts of lines I to my Dermaquest treatment. Balm by Control Correcyives under steam to soften comedomes for extraction ease, and it smells fabulous. Sometime Decleor Aromaessense Oil for facial massage. But for a facail that truly nails it...Dermaquest. I've used many many lines, this line nails it. Also, check out Rhinda Allison. It's an excellent line too.
Good luck !! It's so hard to know what to select :)

thank you so much for all of your input and tips :)

Robin, what do you mean by Balm by Control Correctives? The Calming balm with hydrocortisone that is left on like a lotion? Just confused because not sure why the balm would be used to soften comedones for extractions..you must be using a different product like their enzyme or something? Hope you can clarify, I would like to know.

@Katrina...:) You are correct. I meant to say it is the Skin Nourishing Balm by Control Correctives.
DeCleor also makes an excellent balm to use under steam ...the balm for normal to oily skin ( YlangYlang balm) . I have used these balms for softening for years with much success. My clients also luv them for homecare . It's one of the best selling home are products
You can order Control Correctives Skin Nourishing balm thru Universal Companies.
DeCleor may require a minimum order and /or an established account. I have a house account with them going back 20plus years.
I've never used the Calming balm by Control Correctives, have you?
And So sorry about any typos in my comments..Sigh...using an iPad . Sometimes my proof reading gets sidelined. My intentions are good :-)
Rhonda allison is amazing....never used or heard if yonka.

What is it about the line Rhonda Allison that is amazing to you?

I use Rhonda Allison as well! LOVE IT! The additional training the company provides is so helpful!
