People, how are you advertising and marketing the fabulous results you are getting for your acne clients????

I have been a Face Reality professional for over a year, and the results speak for themselves.  With a compliant client, the success rate is pretty phenomenal.  But I am surprised by how relatively few people, whether moms seeking out my services for their teens, or 20- somethings for themselves, contact me.  I stay plenty busy with aging management.  What gives?

In the interest of full disclosure, I have been described by a friend as being technologically-Amish, and I have a feeling that may be a part of the problem - I do not use social media, for example. I do, however, have a good website, with an entire page devoted to my acne program, and when I debuted the program a year ago, I took out a series of 1/4 page ads, including a glowing testimonial, in my local small-town newspaper...almost no response.  I was quite surprised.

My business should come up when anyone googles "acne" in my area - it's part of my tag line "Good Skin Again (that's my business' name) - Aging, Acne, and Sensitive Skin Management (that's the tag line)."

I feel that I have something so wonderful to offer, and it's a well-kept secret.  I'd love some advice on how hugely grow this part of my business.

Thank you!!!

In today's world you need to become computer savvy or hire someone to do it for you.  Social media sites drive traffic to your website and increase your credibility when you share your knowledge with others.  Another form of marketing is personal networking.  Familiarity breeds confidence.  Go to everything you can or become a regular member of one or two select groups.  There are lots of free networking events out there.  Join your local Chamber of Commerce.  Do you ask your success stories (clients) to spread the word?  Print advertising can be a lot like throwing money at people you HOPE will come to you.  Hope some of this helps.

Thanks, Brenda.  You are no doubt 100% right.  I will have to look at the facebook pages of some good spas / estheticians, and see what they do.  Is facebook enough?  Do you personally utilize sites such as LinkedIn?

As for having clients spread the word, I would love to know how you ask them.  Do you have a great way of phrasing a non-pushy request?

Thanks again.

Happy to share with you, Mary Lou.  I have both FB and Linkedin as well as Twitter, Manta, Yelp, etc.  My FB and Twitter and Linked in are linked so if I post on one of them it goes to all three.

I do not have a certain way of asking clients and, as you are probably aware, acne sufferers do not like to talk about their skin.  If you have someone who has expressed great excitment about their experience getting clear with you, you might ask them if they are comfortable sharing with others.  Also, if you're using the FR program you can ask at the beginning if they would be willing to sign a release form and allow you to use their before and after photos for your marketing.

If you belong to a church that is another great place to start spreading the word with your fellow churchgoers.  Become the go-to person of your congregation.  Just a thought because there will be lots of teens.

If I can help with anything else, please ask.

Wow, Abigail...thank you so much.  When you say "joint events worked well for you" (past tense) are you no longer treating acne?  Or are you just so busy, you don't need to do events anymore?  :)

I'd love to talk more specifics with you.  May I email you direct?  My email is marylou@goodskinagain.com.  By the way, I read your website info; very informative.
