Hi there! My name is Sherry and I am a licensed esthetician who has not practiced in 6 years. I went back to school and became a massage therapist and then had a son (doing all of this while working a full time job that I could not stand). My dream was to do massage and skincare. Once the economy hit the toilet, my dreams of working in the field (even only part time), tanked. I am hoping this forum can help motivate me and guide me to work towards achieving my dream! Good to meet you all and ttys.
Sherry, don't be discouraged or give up on your dreams. If this is what truly makes you happy, then keep on believing that your business will grow, slowly but surely. I am a newly licensed aesthetician, and for the first 2 months was wondering how in the world I was going to make it, but business is picking up, I have regular clients who are booking once a month, and my skincare is selling as well. The best advertisement is word of mouth, and once your first clients start talking, they'll bring in their friends and family and so on. Network at events, offer specials to get people in the door, and always keep smiling! Stay positive and good things will happen! ;-)
