Hello all! I am still a student and I'm really interested in becoming a mobile esthetician. I've been getting a little discouraged by some of the con's in regards to that career field. Like product storage, non-ideal spaces, and the stress of carrying all your equipment. I want to go home to home or maybe even use a big RV and turn it into a spa. Any advice?
Practice on going to women's and teen's shelters and offer free facial services. These places are (most of the time) happy to have volunteers come in. You would then get a feel for what it is like to be mobile and pack supplies. Give them a call and ask if you can come in to meet the managers first.
I am a student also. I think you have a great idea! The only thing that worries me (because I've considered doing the same thing) is that in the state of CA, you have to have a salon as your "home base" and specify the mile radius you would be traveling. I didn't really want to have to rent a room in a salon in order to mobile. It kind of defeats the purpose. Can anyone reading this post respond to this as well as Jo Kia Evans's question?
