I am so happy to see this group growing!  I am in the process of opening my home treatment room and find that I am stymied by the choices and affordability of the different skincare lines.

At this time I use BioElements, Skin Script and have some HydroPeptide for retail.  When my business grows, this may change.

I have been frustrated by wanting to purchase from certain companies but am not able to afford the minimums.  (I called Glymed yesterday - they would like a 1500.00 opening order.)  I also have a hard time trying to find my favorites and keep them all in one line.  (Does that matter?)  For example, I love most of the Skin Script products, but the SPF is a sticky, icky mess that makes my eyebrows stick to my face.

What product lines are you using?  Are you able to keep some retail on hand for clients?

I am really looking forward to learning from you all!

True about bringing in a new line. I do work with Ormedic from Image and it's good for balancing combination skin, but not as hydrating as the Vital C nor as anti-aging as Total, the glycolic series. And organic? Well, there are some chemicals in it! For organic, I mean really plant based. I tried Elina's Organics several years ago at IECSC and it was nice. More recently I've tried it again and it is supposedly "bio-energized". Not sure what that means but I think it's very compatible with the skin. The other 2 lines I read about online - Joanna Vargas is a NYC -based esthetician who they say has fantastic results from her facials and created her own organic line, so she's a holistic esthetician, which I am as well.

In terms of equipment, is anyone in love with theirs, ultrasound or microcurrent or whatever?

Thanks, this is a great resource!

I like Skin Fitness and Prana.  Neither one requires a minimum order and they are both great with customer service and awesome products!

I've had my home based business for 2 1/2 years. I use Dermalogica, Eminence, Control Corrective, DermaPro and Skin Script Enzymes.  I am retailing DermaPro and keep a lot on had as it is a local skincare company and I don't pay any s/h which my customers love.  GREAT products and paraben/sulfate free.  I also take Dermapro on the road and have "Dermapro Spa parties" Which has helped grow my business too.

Gladi,

I'm in the process of starting my own at home spa...any advice for getting started?

Hi Julia,

Hope you read this post. I just became a member and eager to help home-based estheticians. I have been using these serums for over 20 years and made good money. clients cannot buy them on line as you blend them your self for them. The cost is very good and your markup is very profitable. If you do oxy treatments they work amaizing for this as well. Skin Magic ltd has these products.

I am in love with Osmosis!! That is the line that I started using. I really like the philosophy behind the product and there is no minimum order
