Hi everyone!

So very happy to have found this group. I am a solo esthy and recently opened a private studio after being absent from the beauty world for a few years- (I took a detour and worked in pediatric dentistry.)

Being 'new' I was hoping to get feedback on trade shows, cont ed, marketing, biz development on the West Coast. Since I reside in Alaska, I am hoping for something Washington or Oregon based?

Thanks!

Hey Kyong,

Alaska, could you send me some snow please :)

Hmmm to my knowledge WA and OR don't have much in the way of trade shows.  California or Nevada are going to be your closest shows.  There is Las Vegas in June, Long Beach in Sept.

Hope this helps.

Crickett!

My apologies, I've been on vacay out of the country. I'm happy to be back in the states but displeased to hear of thr massive snowfall that awaits me at home :( I'd happily send some your way :)

Thanks for your feedback- after reviewing options I'm hoping to attend the Long Beach expo in Sept(?). Tickets are generally around $600-700.

Now that I'm plugged back in to forums and groups, I'll keep my ear to the ground. Thanks again!!

Hi Kyong,

ASCP keeps a link that has all of the upcoming shows through out the nation and a CEU calendar with dates on classes and workshops.

I love Alaska-Beautiful!

Hi Kyong,

I am also opening my own lil spa up just months out of school for me. For continued education you may want to try http://shelleyhancock.com/ her place is in CA and has a lot of different training going on. You can join her group on here as well http://www.skincareprofessionals.com/group/shelleysshowandtell she also has some informative info on youtube. She is really nice and helpful. The Euro Institute of Skincare in Renton, WA has classes available also. I would just call them to find out what they have going on, I know they have someone come in to teach eyelash extensions, chemical peels and you can do product knowledge for Dr. Spiller's line or Vera Botania. They have more available I just don't remember it all. :) Good luck
