Racheal I often wondered why PA has that rule as well.  I would love to have my own business, but starting one in an established salon makes the most sense.  I tried doing that in a private salon but had to be an employee of the salon and it didn't work out as I couldn't set my own rules and pricing.  I wonder if we could petition the state board to rescind the rule.  I wonder what their reasoning behind it is.

I am just outside of Philadelphia.  You don't find it annoying that PA doesn't allow booth rental?  I am just getting started and I would have loved to have that option since jobs for new grads are pretty scarce...I've been practicing a little on my own and I use Hylunia and Osmosis products, and I do makeup as well.  For that I use a lot of Glo, and some non-pro lines as well.

Hi Ladies,
I'm a day spa owner and clinical esthetician in New Castle, PA. We are about one hour north of Pittsburgh near the Ohio border.

PA is a great state to do esthetics in as we have much more freedom than estys in Ohio do. They can't even do Microderm unless theyre working with an MD. We use Image, Rhonda Allison and Dermaquest products. What so you use ?
