Hi…In your opinion(s) what’s a great cost effective and great working skincare line to begin a small business i.e. treatment room? I’m looking for a skincare company that does not require a large start up fee and/or an extremely expensive minimal order requirement. Thanks!

I just took a class at idi and they went over this a little. the salon i work for uses some dermalogica and i used it in school. I know there is a min start up they did nt give an exact price but it s somewhere between 1000 to 1800 and they select the products for you to start up. I like some of the products but i do not like that they are sold in large retail stores such as ulta and beauty brands. To me this makes it harder to retail. When i go into business for myself i will be going with a company that does not require min orders.

Thanks for sharing the Dermalogica information.

Just an FYI---I would stear clear of Dermalogica. They require a large opening order (mine was $3800) and my rep was literally NON-EXISTENT after she came by to collect the money. The customer service reps can be kind of snotty and rude. Out of the blue, they closed my account without any dialogue, no warning no NOTHING!! I went online to look at some protocols and couldn't get online!! I texted my rep right away and left voice messages but no response. All the next day, same thing. She won't return my calls. I finally got a call from her "supervisor" who by the way, just started her job a few months ago. She told me that they are closing my account because I haven't placed an order recently. She expects $3800 per year!! Her words!! You have to be kidding me!! Now I am stuck with a bunch of back bar and retail Dermalogica products that I don't want!! I am not going to promote their brand when they dropped me like a hot potato without warning! Soooo unprofessional. There are a lot of good skin care lines out there. I could pick any one of them with my eyes closed and end up with a better choice than Dermalogica. Stay away from them! Trust me!!! (The only good thing I can say about the company is that I did enjoy their classes at IDI. The rest sucks!!)

Hi Lugenia, Dermalogica was the professional product line used by my first esthetician friend many years ago. I realized after becoming an esthetician myself that it was harsh on my sensitive skin.  That's not to say that their formulations may not have changed with the times.

Thanks Linda...I'll keep that in mind!

Hi Lugenia, We have found an incredible natural skin treatment that is producing amazing results for our clients.  It is super-easy to use and clients love it.  I have estheticians on my team that have over 20 years experience and they have never seen anything work like this.  The benefits are just too numerous to mention and what is really amazing is the clients tell their friends and our business has tripled because of the results our clients are getting.  Please email me at sheilanfrancis@gmail.com and I will send you more info.

I love skin scripts! I have tried several other professional brands and this is by far my favorite, great product great cuatomer service and free training! They also have a sample pack you can purchase of pro and retail products to try. I love how you can boost enzymes with peels and customize treatments.

Summer, thanks for taking time to reply, I appreciate it. I agree with you, I’d rather use professional products and as have my clients continue his/her home care regime(s) with products from my studio. In addition, I’ve narrowed my choices between Skin Scripts and Bioelements. I recently attended product training (via webinar) for SS, and I liked it, but I still need to actually sample the products. I am waiting to hear from a rep with Bioelements…just to see what they offer as it pertains to training, customer service, etc.

Hi my experience with Bioelements has been... underwhelming. They do offer education, however it is very basic. I feel like their products are not very effective. However they are very easily accessible. I use them currently, but am on the look out for something to supplement both my back bar and retail. In my opinion they lack quality products for certain concerns, such as: acne, hyper pigmentation, and body products.

Well I was torn between a few lines for my "spa" treatments, it was between Elemis and Eminence, I went with eminence because it is organic with no preservatives, and for my more result oriented clients, such as acne, rosacea etc, I chose Jan Marini...

I think that Dr. Shwab for antiaging (http://www.doctorschwabca.com/) Ambrosia for aromatherapy and Sea Enzyme natural and organic line from CA Botana (http://www.ca-botana.com/) could cover your needs. I want to add the fact that those are professional lines, so you'll need your license ID to check out. Also you can use http://www.universalcompanies.com/getinspired/?= from Universal companies to get some ideas for affordable new ideas in aesthetics business. Universal Companies is also a professional source for equipment, supplies,...You'll need YOUR  license id here to buy anything.

i would like to send you some info about Loraine Elegance. Organic skincare products and we will work with you to custom design products.
