Shelley,

I was curious if you had seen this tool...

Do you think this would work? It seems to be the same concept as an ice pack.

I have used little ice packs to cool the skin before using the Radiancy, but I feel like they don't last very long - I usually pull out two or three but they don't seem to last for full treatment, probably because they've already been sitting out for 5-10 minutes! So I actually haven't been using them at all lately.

In the same discussion...I saw that you had a device on your site that cools skin...I know it can't be as cold as ice, but have you found it makes a difference... or not?

I have one and it does work, but it sort of sticks at a specific point in it's rolling. It has a speed bump. It's also pretty big. The plug in cold hammers are great because they are smooth on the skin & stay very cold.

Cindy....I tried one of those and it didn't cool one area well enough. Have you seen the cooling machine on my website? It's fabulous. Many Estys have purchased it and love it. Scroll down this page a bit:

Shelley's cooling machine is amazing!! Mine is so cold, it forms little ice crystals on it occasionally. You and your clients will love it. By the way, I can get a full 10 pulses & 2 passes with Radiancy while using it and my clients literally don't feel a thing! It's a much more relaxing experience for them too.

Thanks Shelley! I was just looking at that and wondering if it gets cold enough.

Wowza Cindy! That is unbelievable!

When I do the full 10 pulses, I haven't been doing a second pass over that area. Do you hold the hammer on each spot before pulsing or massage around a larger area...and how long each hold?

Do you all think that is okay to do 2 passes with that many pulses?

Good Morning gals......I'm gonna pipe in! I hold the hammer in an area during the 10 second delay between pulse sequences. You may want to add another couple of seconds. Be aware of your clients skin type. Just because the numbing makes it so it doesn't hurt, doesn't mean every skin type should do even one pass on 10 pulses, nonetheless two. Darker skin types should always have lower pulses. Make sense?

Absolutely! Thank you!

I don't have any Radiancy clientele at the moment since I am just now getting back in the treatment room...but I would LOVE that cooling machine over the ice packs any day. (saving my pennies right now)
