Hi Vanessa: Here's my ideas, but I invite anyone else to chime in about their ideas. I'm hoping Shelley Hancock will respond since she's the device gal.
I use the ultrasonic scrubber to penetrate enzymes and I use the opposite site of the scrubber to remove the enzymes. I do this all under steam.
I use the dermafile directly on top of the enzyme (yes, wet) during the last few minutes the enzyme is on the skin. I am not aggressive with this tool. My feeling is that I'm using the enzymes to dissolve dead skin, soften the skin, and then the dermafile is mechanically pulling the dead skin off. Again, I apply no pressure and do this very gently so it doesn't irritate the skin.
I anticipate you asking which enzyme to use. I use the scrubber and dermafile with all my enzymes. I use the most appropriate enzyme for each skin condition/type. Refer to your protocols, or listen to one of my webinars (or call me directly at 480-543-1121). For African American skin with a lot of acne and pigmentation I would choose the Pomegranate enzyme. It contains 2% salicylic and 11% lactic, plus the lightener arbutin (I actually created this one for African American skin). The Pomegranate is quite tingly, so if you feel its too much, then start with the Blueberry enzyme (1% glycolic/1% salicylic) and move up to the Pomegranate. Once you have cleared the acne, use Skin Script's 10% TCA to work on pigmentation issues. I created this one specifically for Fitz 4, 5, 6 and it is very gentle, yet very effective at lifting pigment. For homecare, I suggest green tea cleanser, glycolic cleanser and retinol scrub (2-3 times a week), glycolic/retinol pads which are our lightening product for pigment, Cucumber Toner, Ageless Hydrating Serum, Ageless Skin Moisturizer and SPF.

PS: I would use the LED after the treatment is complete. However, I'm not the expert on LED, so we will let others provide input.
