? Client just finished an herbal peel a week ago. I see her on Tuesday. Hormonal breakouts/oily. Facial recommendation?

Pomegranate enzyme with retinol scrub if she can handle it, under steam, followed by high frequwncy and extraction. Spot treat wit Salicylic peel.

Did you do the peel?

If you don't know the clients skin then I would be cautious. I would use a non acid enzyme - Coconut or Raspberry, no to little extractions, no scrub, no Sal peel unless you are managing her treatment and skin going forward...even then I think I would wait a week.  her skin is still healing...from what I have heard most of the herb peels are pretty agressive and traumatizing to skin.  My thought is that the enzyme would clean up the residual peeling safely

This could be a Saturday morning call-in show with Christine and Cindy.

I like a mild clean-up enzyme after an aggressive peel with mild extractions (if she has purging).  Generally, its just to help remove dead skin.  I usually wait at least 10 days after the initial peel.

If she is really oily and has very resilient skin, then I agree with the Pomegranate enzyme (or possibly blueberry).

I think this question is a judgment call for Carrie on what to use based on her skin resiliency and any purging from the peel.

:)

Thank you Lisa. I do work on her frequently and I'm familiar with her skin. Yes, to also the herbal peels being aggressive. I did one and thought my skin was back to normal and felt a zit coming on my chin. So I spot treated with cranberry turnover and totally burnt my skin. Blood blisters and all. That's why I'm wanting to run conservative no matter what the skin is telling me.
I have the intent to nourish and balance out her skin. Her purging is over but now she says they are stress breakouts due to work. I think I'll go ahead with either enzyme Pom/blue, light extractions ( with HF) and the spearmint mask and a few serums. Thanks ladies! I love this group.
