Hi,

I have a young lady close to 17 yrs old who has quite a lot of scarring w/pigmentation. This is what she is on currently:

finacea

adapalene both from derm

antibiotic clindamyicyn

She has also had these  3 peels from a local spa. I just copied and pasted

The Vitalize peel is the only superficial peel suitable for all skin types. Special formulization includes a unique blend of peeling agents: alpha-hydroxy acids, beta-hydroxy acids, resorcinol, and retinoic acid. The results are predictable and noticeable after just one peel while dramatic results are seen after a series of peels. This peel is very superficial and requires little to no downtime for the patient.

She is wanting a peel before her prom on sat, but I told her I think we should wait until after the prom in case her skin purges.

I'm looking for suggestions since I'm totally new.

Sorry to say after all of your wonderful input, she is sticking with the Derm for now. They are scared to taper off or anything that the derm recommended even though the scarring and pigmentation is pretty bad her acne is better since going to the derm.

I'll keep you posted if something changes

I'm sorry too Tracy!

If client and Mom are happy with what they are doing then you don't have a chance.

I'm glad that I don't have an acne clientele because I am pretty frustrated with trying to educate a clientele that doesn't want to be educated. (or for a clientele that doesn't want to invest in treatment and product).

The bottom line for a lot of them seems to be the most important factor in their decisions.

With insurance they are getting their visits and prescriptions for "free", or for a small co-pay.
