I have been working with a women for her pigmentation and firming of the skin for about 6 months we have done a series of 6 passion fruit facials the we went to the Lemonzest series for around 6 treatments she is using all the appropriate homecare products. the last 3 weeks i have addded lactic to the lemonzest. Her skin is definitely firmer and brighter and now noticing the larger spots breaking up. My question is how long can I keep treating her every week as she loves coming in and is noticing a difference. I was thinking of letting the skin rest and she continue her hme care and start the series tx and add the tca tx

Hi Sheila:  I would start with coconut or raspberry and see how she responds.  They say you should be off Accutane at least 6 months before any peels; however, I would start slow and gently progress.  I would have her try the Glycolic/Retinol pads at home to lift pigment; you'll have to see if she can tolerate those - adjust the usage based on sensitivity.

I just had an old client reach out to me that she wants to come in.  This was an acne client that opted to take accutane as a last resort and has now been off for a month and would like to start treating her PIH and scarring.  Is a month long enough?  I was thinking about starting her slowly.  Should I start with an enzyme, maybe blueberry or lemon zest?  Then slowly work her into lactic peel, glycolic, and keep with those two and eventually a tca?

Hi Nikki:  Baking soda is used to neutralize products, such as glycolic and lactic peels.  To create a neutralization solution, blend one cup of water and 1 teaspoon of baking soda.  Dip a 4x4 into the solution and remove the peel from the skin.  You asked "about what point of a facial would you use it".  Normally, you don't use it during a facial, unless the client becomes too tingly.  Please feel free to call me at 480-543-1121 if you have questions.

Hi Lisa V., Lee P., and all my other Esty friends. I was just curious. Why do you use baking soda? What are the benefits, and at what point of the facial would you incorporate it??

When you rinse the glycolic acid with the baking soda solution do you do a final rinse with clearwater or just leave the baking soda solution on and apply sunscreen?

I'm going to go out on a limb and assume Skin Script doesn't ship to Japan? My husband was given military orders today for us to move to Japan.
