Angel-I am beyond excited! I did a dance to my car and sat in it with the biggest grin when I got my results. I am so happy to be doing something that doesn't feel like "work" to me. Now, I just have to get my room done and hang the "Open for Business" sign. ;)

Hi Lisa! I just passed my State Boards. I already have an account set up with my student contract. Do you need a copy of my license? Also, I ordered your recommended start-up products. I was wondering if you have any posters or signs? I am planning on opening March 2nd and I wanted to put signs/posters in the window. I need to push the marketing now that I have an opening date!!

Hi Lisa-  Thank you for going "out of the box" by communicating with your customers. I really appreciate the way you educate your customers. I learn something from you every day...there are not many "companies" out there that share the things you do. And yes I also appreciate your realisim in that you are not afraid to say SS is good with this but ABC is good with that....again Thank you!  Megan

Hi Megan:

I get this question a lot.  When I started Skin Script (with help of a team of people) the Vitamin A serum was a mixup.  The Vitamin A serum we requested showed up with jojoba beads in it.  We asked "why the jojoba beads, the Vit A does the exfoliation".  The chemist replied and said it was an error that they put the jojoba beads in the Vit A serum.  We had the samples in hand (with the jojoba beads) and we fell in love with it.  It was then called "Retinol Scrub".  However, I understood the need for a stay-on Vit A.  I asked my group could we have both a Retinol Scrub and a Retinol Serum in the line?  We all loved our glycolic cleanser too and we were torn on which products to launch/carry.  We ended up going with the 17% Glycolic Cleanser and the Retinol Scrub combination.  They were our favorites.  Being a small company, we become limited on the amount of products offered.  Could we offer both Retinol Serum and Scrub?  For now, I am going with my stand-by favorites of the Glycolic Cleanser and the Retinol Scrub (which has been a classic, proven combination in my experience).  I do hear everyone loud and clear when it comes to Retinol Serums, so maybe one day as we grow I can bring the Retinol Serum on board.  I have it on the wish list.  Thanks for your question.

By the way, I understand each este's opinion and experience; other great skin care companies such as PCA, Rhonda Allison, CosMedix are offering that Vit A serum.  They are great companies and each company has its offering; for now I defer to them if you need that serum.  That might sound odd to some of you that I would refer you to a competitor, but I feel each company can have their expertise and offer it well.

Hi Lisa- I was wondering I really like vit C and Vit A serums. I know SS has a vitamin C but what about a Vit. A   Thanks!

Hi Sheila - this is one of those tricks you will learn in my product knowledge, exfoliant fundamental class.  Yes, the retinol scrub is a homecare product, but I use it on the backbar as well.

I like retinols (vit a) for softening open comedomes (blackheads) so extractions are easier.  Based on that, when I perform my skin analysis and see that someone needs a lot of extractions, I will (1) have the steam rolling, (2) put down a layer of retinol scrub directly on the impacted pores and manipulate it in with my finger tips, then (3) put an enzyme on top of the retinol scrub for 7-10 minutes, all under steam.  It makes extractions so much easier.  Keep in mind that you are adding a mini Vit A peel to their treatment, so they could be flakey in the next few days.

I don't have this recorded in a protocol, as its an "add in" for help with extractions.  Let me know if you have questions.

Lisa, I was looking through my protocols and I don't see anywhere that the retinol scrub is used.  is this more for home use?  I normally use a clarisonic but was thinking of bringing a scrub back.  I am getting ready make the transition so I will be placing my order today.
