A quick question for all of in TN. I currently work as an Instructor as well as an Esthetician. I am thinking of trying to set-up CEU courses in the Chattanooga area. What I would like to hear from you ALL is 1. What CEU courses interest you the most? 2. Would you sign up and take said courses in the Chattanooga area? 3. Any other input you feel would be vital to making this happen for all of us! Thanks, in advance, for all of your input!
What needs to be done to get Estheticians licensed sooner in TN. The wait time for testing is so slow and the Theory test is so outdated.
Just found this group, looking forward to great discussions regarding our state specific issues. Here's my first one, where does everyone go for continuing eduction classes?
Thanks Casey that would be great. If you don't mind I could send you a breakdown of how the bags in the kits are packed and I'd love any suggestions for things they need to pay extra attention to while actually performing the examination. I can IM you whenever you have the time..thanks so much!!
Michelle, I am a licensed instructor and have run the state board program for the school I work with since 2008. We have extremely high scores with our practical examinations, and I would be happy to help you look through what you're instructing your students to do. I pretty much have it down to a science, and all our steps/kit packing/preparations, etc. have been discussed with and approved by the director of the PSI program. I wouldn't get this info. from students, as I can assure you they don't all show up doing the things they should be (as passed on by PSI director). That said, I'd be happy to help you get it all worked out!
It changed for Estys too, I think she just posted the wrong link. Basically nothing goes through state board anymore, it's all processed through PSI so you have to wait until you get a postcard from PSI stating you are indeed in their system before you can apply for a test date.
For the estys that take the license exam now the rules are new (2012)

Hi Ladies I have a question for any newly licensed estys or anyone that took their board after 2009. I'm an instructor and want to make sure that I'm telling my girls the correct way to pack their kits and do their state boards to pass. I was licensed in 2008 and it's so different that what I did so if anyone could post a breakdown of their kits that would be wonderfully helpful. Thanks!!!
