Hello everyone.  I've been working as an esty for almost a year now and just developed some really horrible looking eczema on my hands this past summer.  I have never had it before and, coincidentally, it started when I left working at one spa to work at another.  I use Dermalogica at my new job and think it may be those products that are giving me the contact dermatitis that erupts in the palms of my hands (especially my left hand where I deposit product during application) and between my fingers.

I have tried using non-latex and powder-free gloves.  I don't think it's the latex anyway.  And I have also tried wearing gloves during the entirety of all of my facials for 2 weeks straight to give my hands a chance to heal.  As soon as I go back to touching product, my hands flare up again.  They only heal with a script steroid cream and I do not want to be using it every day :(

I've also changed my diet drastically and am avoiding fragrant products/creams/soaps.

How am I supposed to do what I love with this problem?! I have stayed home from work for a whole 2 weeks to take care of my hands and it just comes back again.

Has anyone else been through this or have any advice?  I would really appreciate any help I can get.  Thanks!

The best results I have seen has been done with the following Glymed products:

Gentle Face wash

Facial Hydrator

Rosacea Relief

Intense Peptide complex

and a sulfur masque

Oh no! I had a similar problem in school and we used dermalogica products. The only thing that seemed to help me was keeping them washed constantly AFTER the antibacterial solution and then follow it with a hydrating lotion. I thought it was just from being so busy and washing my hands constantly. Hopefully it gets better, sorry to hear :(

Hi Margarita!

I used our gloves for facials and waxing and have no problem with them. They are a synthetic surgical glove coated with aloe. http://www.ssmoothskinsupply.com/aloetouch-synthetic-gloves.html

I created an alcohol and steriod free serum for my daughter who has had eczema since birth and its so light and absorbs so quickly. You can hear me talk about why I created it and watch how fast it absorbs into the skin http://www.ssmoothskinsupply.com/seprpr.html

Please call us if you any questions...
