Follow 9 Steps To Fight Against Aging And Make Yourself Feel Young

Already feeling the signs of aging? Don’t panic! The best thing that you can do is to take simple steps to fight against aging even before it gets worse! Even if you think there’s no easy way out of the dilemma that you are in, you will be happy to know that there are plenty of ways on how you can still protect your skin from signs of aging. Want to know what these are? Well, here are some simple tips.

1.)    Avoid Too Much Sodium Intake.

Salt is used in cooking almost all of our dishes but did you know that too much sodium can lead to early signs of aging? That’s because it can leave your skin dehydrated, old and wrinkly. To avoid this, it is a must that you cut back your sodium intake. Avoid processed foods and junk foods and stick to fruits and vegetables and your skin will not show aging signs anytime soon.

2.)    Don’t Drink Through Straws.

You may think that drinking through straws is a harmless thing to do but the repeated puckering movements that your lips do as you drink your favorite beverage can lead to early signs of aging like wrinkles and fine lines.  If you wish to look young for a long period of time, we recommend avoiding drinking through straw altogether and just drink from a cup instead. You will be much more beautiful that way.

3.)    Use The Right Soap.

The type of soap that you use plays a big role on how healthy your skin looks. In general, soaps are alkaline in nature. Because of this, it has the tendency to wash or strip off the natural protective layer of our skin which is acidic in nature. To avoid this, we recommend swapping your regular soap with one that is chemical-free and Ph-neutral. Also, please bear in mind that there is such a thing as overwashing your face.

4.)    Indulge In Berries.

When it comes to fighting off early signs of aging, antioxidants are your best friends, and there are no better sources of it than berries. If you are located in the city, it is recommended that you opt for frozen berries instead of the fresh ones because oftentimes, the antioxidant levels of fresh berries have already gone down even before they hit your grocery stalls. On the other hand, frozen berries are blast frozen when they are at their ripest, so you are assured that they still have high antioxidant content.

5.)    Drink Coffee.

We know that there are many studies that say that caffeine can make you look old but that is only if you will consume too much of it. If consumed in moderation, you can actually make coffee work in your favor. This is all due to the potent blend of antioxidants that coffee has which can protect skin from aging and repair the skin damage brought about by too much sun exposure.

6.)    Eat Right For Your Skin Type.

To determine which is the best diet for your skin, you need to know your skin type. If your skin is dry, thin but cool to touch, we recommend eating warm and healthy foods. On the other hand, a fair, soft and sensitive skin can benefit from a diet filled with sweet, juicy fruits and fresh vegetables. Lastly, people with thick and oily skin should avoid oily and hard to digest foods.

7.)    Keep Stress At Bay.

Stress is the number one source of aging, so the best way to fight off aging is to keep stress at bay. You can do this by taking some time off to do the things you love, practicing breathing exercises, meditation and many more.

8.)    Hydrate From The Inside Out.

To keep aging at bay, you have to give the skin the hydration it needs, from the inside out. You can do this by applying moisturizer to your face and lotion to your body twice a day. But more than that, you should aim to drink at least 7-8 glasses a day and to consume fruits and vegetables as you can.

9.)    Shield Your Skin From The Sun.

Well, this is one tip that you have already heard a million times, but it is still worth mentioning. Too much sun exposure can certainly dehydrate the skin, leaving it dull and lifeless. To avoid that, do not forget to wear sunscreen with high SPF. Wearing hats, long sleeves and other protective gear can be beneficial too.

Keep in mind that prevention is always, always better than cure. That’s why you should not wait for signs of aging to show up before you act against it. As early as now, it is a must that you already take good care of your skin. Start with the tips that we have mentioned above and rest assured; you can fight off signs of aging even before they show up.
