I personally think the more education/experience the better esty you will be, especailly if you are going to be working independently. When I came out of school, I went to a large spa with several other estheticians. Eventhough I had completed 600 hrs, there was still so much I had to learn. I would do the most education and forget about those online continuing ed. classes (they are a joke and you really don't learn anything) and go to a hands on class. I have found they are hard to come by in this state, but there is a show that comes once a year in which you would have some luck.
I have found in Fl most places want you to have a dual license, facial specialist and massage. But if you are working from home I would think the facial specialist would be fine. If you want to do body treatments you will have to take an additional 2 day training and get a seperate certificate. If you move to another state, you may have to go back to school. Just an FYI, where I am from 600 hrs is required to be an Esthetician.
