I am always interested in other people's stories...what they do, their interests, what they are passionate about. I'd love to hear other stories...and share mine. Here goes:
I always knew I wanted to be in sales. I majored in business in college, got a great sales job that I loved (at the time) and pursued my MBA. After a while, that once great sales job had turned into a slog. The pharmaceutical industry, in which I was working, had changed so much. It was impossible to see clients and there was very little contribution I could make on helping healthcare providers help their patients...which was what I had loved about the job. So, I sat down and asked myself "what do you love?" "what are you passionate about?"...I kept coming back to skin care. I have always loved taking care of my skin, getting professional services, using product and seeing the results. So I began a search. I had enough information about the industry to be dangerous =) I knew what I did and did not want. After sorting thru many companies and a few opportunities, I landed with the company I work for now. I love it. I love my boss, my clients, helping my clients help theirs, my companies client-friendly business model. The list could go on and on. Because I love what I do, it shows in my work and how I approach each day and each interaction. One of the greatest things about skin care sales is working with so many others who are passionate about what they do. I feel this is a unique gift. It certainly wasn't like that in the pharmaceutical industry. To wake up each day and be proud of what you sell, proud of what you do and proud of your clients has certainly changed my life for the better. I'd love to hear how skin care has changed other lives for the better.
