Hey Ladies! Quick question, I had a new client come in the other day and upgraded from a "coupon" (run through the sap) to a microcurrent. She says she left her other esthetician because she started to cut corners and would like to find another. She also said she loves microcurrent but can only afford $50/mo. And she would come in religiously every month if I could give it to her at that price. I just started doing MC and havent even added it to my services yet, so I don't have a set price yet, but know I will charge more that that. My facials are $75.
Should I gain a new loyal client by giving it to her at that price or should I tell her Im sorry, my services are worth more than that?
Thanks for your input :)

Do you offer the microcurrent in a single session or add-on service with your facials?

If it  is a single session ( I do not recommended) $50 is ok. If you offer  it with a facial it should be at least $90/hour. I would tell the client about her choices and I will sell a series of 6( six ) treatments.

If the client is serious about coming once a month  ,she will sign up. This way you get the answer by yourself. The reason I do not recommend single session is because when you perform the facial with microcurrent ,the results are better. Once the skin is cleaned ,exfoliated and an antiaging product is applied, the electricity will push deeper the product .Actually you can penetrate products for any skin conditions, just be sure the client has no pace maker, implants and she is not pregnant or does not have epilepsy. There are more situations you (we ) have to be aware of ,but these are major. Hope I help.

oh - and I could totally understand that her last esthetician was cutting corners if she pulled this same "...I can only afford..." thing.

I am sure that she HAD to to that to compensate for the discount.

I think she is just shopping for a deal.  But I could be wrong...

;)

So - for a microcurrect series, she needs to come in more than once a month to see best results.

But I see no problem with putting together a prepaid package for her that would reduce her per treatment cost.

Does she want the Microcurrent for her whole face or a specific area?  That would determine if you could do it for $50.  Maybe ask her what her specific area of concern is and compromise with her, you could concentrate on that area for $50 (or less) rather than doing a full face treatment.

Sometimes gaining a new loyal client who will spread business for you by word of mouth is great.  However, if other clients or potential clients hear of this discounted price they will of course expect the same.  You could always offer her this price but minimize the amount of time for the facial balancing out the discounted cost per treatment.

*Spa not sap... Perhaps I should proof read first.
