So, now we've heard from two skin care magazine editors who are asking for your opinions, input, ideas ... this is a great opportunity to tell them what you want to read about. They are listening, and they care!
I agree with Carrie it is wonderful to have our magazines be listed in the faves! We greatly appreciate the positive remarks! Each editor or magazine has a different feel to it and directive but all want to bring forth the most information to you! A lot of time, effort, love sweat and yes sometimes tears but most of all a ton of research goes into each issue. We value your opinions and want to hear from you! You are in the trenches working day in and day out. What are your concerns? What do you want to learn about......reach out to your favorite magazine/editor and request topics of interest.
I encourage you to continue to expand your knowledge base and broaden your esthetic horizons! Our industry is filled with so many opportunities!
Les Nouvelles Esthetiques & Spa is my all-time favorite. Timely articles on current subjects, and it's just so fabulous LOOKING! I always love the gorgeous covers. So elegant and lovely! I have past issues I can't bear to part with. Okay, to be honest I have YEARS of past issues I can't bear to part with! The current LNE&Spa along with my Williams-Sonoma catalog are front and center on my coffee table at all times!
Stephanie, this is great information, and I hope the editors of all the skin care magazines are taking notes! Input from readers like you is so important to keep skin care publications offering what YOU, the target audience, want to know about!
Oh and I love "how to" videos. Even though they can't be in a magazine they could be on say Skin Inc's (or other magazine) website.
I am a Medical Aesthetician who used to work for a physician and now I branched off to start my own skin care studio so I like Medical Aesthetics because it keeps me up to date on the Med Aesthetic world including lasers and fillers. I love Skin Inc for its variety of articles especially the business solutions section. Skin Deep is also great for the variety especially on holistic therapies and protocols...it is short and sweet! What I would love to see more of in these magazines are: more protocols (step by step) for add on services such as eye treatments, lash and brow tinting etc, also even more on running and managing a small business, resources for the aesthetician in regards to continuing education and mentors, and even more on ingredients especially how to teach our clients how to read ingredient labels so they can be skin saavy. Lets face it ingredient labels are confusing...many products are just filled with fillers and a whole bunch of stuff that only a chemist can pronunce and we are expected to know what that garbage is??! I hope this helps you!
Great! Thank you for that information.
The main reason why I like both theese magazines is that they always have a good variety of articles that include skin science and business.
Emily, can you tell us why you like Dermascope and Les Nouvelles Esthetique?
Stephanie, why are Skin Inc. and Medical Aesthetics your favorites?
Thank you, ladies!
Dermascope and Les Nouvelles Esthetique.
