After 16 years of  it working as an esthetician, I've decided to go off into the world of being self employed! I had made a weak attempt early on in my career, but did it for all of the wrong reasons; ultimate flexibility! (no such thing especially as a small business owner), free products! (yeah right, this is why I saw NO profit) and calling my own shots (My clients should have been calling the shots, after all they were my bread and butter).

See, all the wrong reasons. Not uncommon for an esthetician newer to the business. It took years working for others, perfecting my skill as well as my attitude and respect for the business of esthetics. For me it also took a move out of California to Colorado away from everyone and everything I knew. I had a period of regrowth. I started from square one. I got a job with an amazing company that specializes in waxing and went through their training, letting go of all the stuff I had learned through out my 12 years working in day spas. I made myself a clean slate ready to absorb what I was going to be taught. Yes, a lot of it was what I already knew, but a lot of it was new! I let go of old habits and old ways of thinking and became better...much better at my craft! The most important thing I learned during my journey with this company is that I love waxing. I AM A WAXER.

After 4 great years with this company and some life changes, I decided to challenge myself...my more seasoned self, with the opportunity to open my own 1 girl waxing studio! As scary as this is, its also really exciting. I'm finding that I love learning about business basics...there is SO much to know!!! But I really enjoy it. Once again I'm starting out at the bottom. New environment, new clients, new knowledge!

Congratulations!! I took the leap 26 years ago after being an Esty for only a year and a half. Scarey,? You bet! But the most rewarding move I've ever made. My best advise it....have fun with it. That kind of energy is contagious and clients will flock to you!
