A mother purchased a series of microdermabrasion services for her 12 year old daughter, the mother never mentioned it was for her daughter and thought this service would best clear blackheads.... 1) her daughter is 12, has congestion piled on top of congestion and a billion blackheads, literally on every part of her face... I was dumbfounded when the lady brought her daughter in thinking I was to micro her face and wa-la! I gave her a facial and extracted what I could and asked that she commit to see me each week so that I could finish extracting, I am writing because I don't know how to handle this situation, I basically swapped her 1 service for the one purchased. For a 12 year old girl I honestly don't know what to do- please help me - thank you

If you have some sample sizes send them home. Get her some home care to offset the cost difference of the services and let the product do its job so at the end of the series of facials she has clear skin. Tell mom that she must do her ”homework” using product for this to work. I get these all the time. I like Skin script for these guys. Blemish wash works great and I go to Sally beauty to get them a brush that costs $3 that I include with their first treatment and this feels special when your 12 and need help but don't like washing your face especially with something stinky. Ss is pink and doesn't smell funny. Just ask my 13 yr old daughter. She won't use anything green, yellow or stinky. This is that age where you want clear skin and do nothing to get it. Have her put it in the shower since she will be more likely to use it
Omgosh thank you for the support, I use SS, would the blemish pads work as well. I haven't had too much experience with SS besides the enzymes.

Lin,

In my experience, extracting blackheads, which can make skin look like a battlefield, is much less effective than using products that address the over-active sebum production which created the blackheads in the first place.  Salicylic acid cleansers, toners, and serum will do much to decrease the need for extraction.  Mild daily exfoliation is essential, as well as weekly in-office treatments.  I formulate a product, Nutrifoliant (see website:  Nutrifoliant.com) which is a combination of nutrients, including lots of anti-oxidants, and microdermabrasion crystals.  Nutrifoliant is mixed with any facial cleanser at the point of use in palm of hand to make a paste.  That paste is then massaged onto the skin gently for 1-2 minutes.  Rinse thoroughly.  Use daily for a gentle, nutrient-infused microdermabrasion treatment.  I will send samples ASAP if you send your address.  Email:  nutrientskincare@gmail.com

Let me know if you would like samples.  I have an Acne Formula which may be appropriate for this client.

Do you have access to glycolic serum and benzol peroxide?

I have 30% glycolic - skin script and the clear cell line from Image?

No, I mean a 5% or 10% home care serum.  How about bpo?

No I don't ...

How about a salicylic serum?  Did you say no to bpo as well?

Yes I don't have either one? Although i can order the sal pads from image or skin script?

You really don't have anything strong enough to give her for home care.  Noninflamed acne (blackheads) takes a REALLY strong regimen to have even a hope of getting it under control.  My line would but you have to buy our training DVD in order to know how to use the line correctly.  Do you want to know more about that?

Yes please - I try to educate mysef as much as possible, where do I send my information to? Thanks again

Here's the info on the training DVD.  Let me know if you have any questions. You an email me at laura@facerealityacneclinic.com or call myself or Patti at 866-477-3077.
