PLEASE Help CA Estheticians to Keep Treating Acne!

The California State Board of Barbering and Cosmetology has changed the wording in their regulations that would make it illegal for estheticians to perform services on anyone with acne. We are mounting a challenge to this, but NEED your support. The timing of this is critical, so please sign our petition today. Thanks in advance for helping us to keep doing what we love and helping people.

Article I wrote addressing physicians

I made the case to physicians for allowing estheticians who are well trained in treating acne to take that caseload off their hands, much like a dentist allows the dental hygienist to do the dental cleanings.

Hello, I am just beginning to focus on acne as my specialty in my new solo skin care business as I get enormous satisfaction helping clients with troubled skin. I use PCA skin brand and my PL brand as my products right now. I know state regulations limit us to treating grades 1 and 2 so how is it your able to treat all types of acne. Some of the clients clearly are past stage 2 and they are the ones that need us the most.
Does getting acne certified by your company and becoming an acne expert give an esthetician the legal right to treat grades 3 non medically as especially the clients that just don't want to see a doctor for treatment.
How to approach this?

Hello Laura thank you so much for the welcome message I am very excited to be part of this great website and meet wonderful skin care professionals like you. I am new in the skin care field and so far I am loving it, I do work at a Spa and often do facials for clients suffering from acne and I would love to be able to help them as much as I can. Best regards to you and everyone in this group looking forward to learn from all of you.

Hello!
I've been an esthetician for over a year and lately I'm having some clients returning with some breakouts after they have a facial with me. I just learned that algae is comedogenic and I've been using enzyme gel ( with algae ) to cleanse the skin with steam on.
Could be that is what is wrong ? Why people get breakouts after a facial ? Please help me
