How to pick the best skin care line????? does anyone test professional lines?

I have done lots of research on different companies. the problem is, unless you know ingredients like the back of your hand, its hard to tell.

is their a company that tests and rates professional lines? if not , how do we tell?

Which cleansing product or exfoliator do you use for prepping the skin for extractions?

Denise,

Nutrient Skin Care's line of cleanser boosters modifies any cleanser to be used with any skin condition or type.  Samples are free and the line is very affordable and highly effective.  The HydroxyBoost Facial Cleanser Booster or the SeaweedSalicylic Booster would work well for prepping the skin for extractions.  NutrientSkinCare.com.

You wrote the below statement, right? Look at what I have in bold...

If you are talking about Nerium, feel free to go on my website and read all the facts, scientific studies, and feel free to contact me with any other questions about this subject! I would love to help in this matter! Nerium, just like any other product, may not be for everyone! You have to find what works for you! This is why most spas carry more than one product line!

That is the first issue that is wrong.  The MLM companies you spoke about in another post are sold mainly, 90% or more, by NON-PROFESSEIONSALS.  You also reference in the statement above that you will help OTHER professionals with INTERPRETTING ‘Facts’ and ‘Scientific Studies’ as they apply to Nerium.

Your post or comments to me are below:

Have you ever tried it or even researched the ingredients and company?? Have you attended any Nerium seminars and heard about the real results? I am not trying to argue, just think you should read all the facts about something before you pass judgment! Did you know that it is formulated by Dr. Newman who is a Bio. Tech. Scientist! It is said by Don Smothers (who has formulated many professional skincare lines) to be the best result driven product he has seen! I do look forward to your reply!!

To your first question – Yes I did.

To your second question – No, why would I?  I am a professional and MLM cannot be a professional line.  I have stated this before.  A professional line MUST be followed with education.  You could hurt someone with my line and lines I respect as they are applied by skin care professionals only and for this reason.

Third point: The ingredient deck is very long.  The results you talk about… With so many ingredients, how do the results shown during these seminars decipher the difference between the results that are being had from skin inflammation and those that are had from real skin health improvement?

Because the results you get with a line I would build (Home care usage only – no chemical or machines) would take weeks if not months to really make a difference.  The condition did not happen over night, the fix is not over night.

Do you REALLY want me to REALLY do the research on this product and post it on this forum? :) I think the above statements speak volumes but if you really want me to put down another skin care line with documented research I’ll do it.  I just do not think it’s the right thing to do.  I have said how I feel in other ways that present a more professional image.

I appreciate your honesty and concern with skincare and professional/ non professional lines! No need to do research on something you do not like! I do not know if knowing more may change your mind about Nerium! Probably not especially if you have done research and have the feelings you do! I agree that skincare should stay in the hands of the professionals! There are many contraindications to consider with skincare! So yes I do agree to an extent! Nerium was started with the intent to give people a way to make a good living for themselves and their families! There are a lot of skincare professionals in the Business such as Aestheticians and Dermatologists! There are also people who are not in the Beauty profession, which Like I said, I do not agree completely with, However if they are willing to learn about skincare and take the fall for any wrong doings then that is different! Nerium stands behind their product completely!! I can see that there is no point in even trying to explain anything because you have your opinion and I have mine!! I respect you for sharing yours with me though!! Thank you!!!

Your obviously two things and probably many more:  :))

1. Intelligent

2. Driven

This is what I would like to say:  If you ever want to talk about a product or anything and it IS 'MLM' do not point to 'YOUR' website within the 'MLM".  When you point to your MLM site it changes the complete direction of your point.

Marty,

I am curious.  What is your background, education and training in skin care?

Susan

Susan,

Why...?

My posts...do they not make sense? Is the angle or opinion too different; too direct? :))

This is a forum based on a professional opinion, correct?

...not what masters degree one has or how many skin care lines they have created or how many Dr.s they have formulated for or how many schools they have taught at or even how long they have been in the skin care industry, right?

Enjoy the posts.  Smile when they are good. Critique them when you think its needed. Either way I would never ask that question of you. Your a professional and your opinion is valid and appreciated no matter what.  Isn't mine?

Marty,

I sensed from your posts that you have a preference for professional lines and references to being licensed.  It prompted me to wonder if that is where you are coming from personally.  No worries.

Oh. No not at all. But if I may add this:

Non professional lines or lines that do not address exfoliation only continue the 'Dry Skin Cycle' in that they pack down skin cells through lotions and cream application.  In the end you are left with an occlusive barrier that is thick and compacted.

Now this point is not the end all be all but,

If you think of this (I know you know this): Epidermal layer ONLY deals with SC cells and exfoliation while the dermal layer only deals with structure you may as I do think that unless you are truly applying skin care with a professionally educated individual built to address the exfoliation process then everything else is either glue, anti aging or anti oxidant.  All well and good but as we age, the skin and the enzymatic process of exfoliation, goes through many changes and that is where I believe and concentrate my efforts. I believe this is the key to healthy and beautiful skin which is age appropriate and genetic appropriate.

I hope this quickly written post comes out as I intend it to.

I am an esthetician that stands by my advice that 'Daily exfoliation is the key to great skin.'  So, yes, it seems we are on the same page.  I attach an article I wrote on exfoliation for my local newspaper.  Daily, gentle exfoliation accompanied by nutrient penetration can transform skin.  I have five pages of testimonials to verify that.  Check out the website for my premier product, Nutrifoliant.com.  My entire line, Nutrient Skin Care, is based on nutrient penetration enhancement, exfoliation included.

I have scientific explantion videos which comes closest to an any answer that I can imagine.

I read your article and it touches on a very valid point regarding the value of exfoliating but at the same time addresses the need to understand over exfoliating.

This link on my website: http://www.skincarescience.com/glycolic.php

Brings up my theory on a term I came up with to help describe what percentages of an active acid truly is: 'Glycolic Acid Units'.

I wrote this last week and the over all plan is NOT complete but the idea is solid and I feel that it really gives new and experienced skin care pros an answer to a very good question.  How much is too much?

Of course there are so many variables but from experience it really touches the details on a base line of maybe what should be done.  I do not feel there is a right or wrong answer but this theory of 'Glycolic Acid Units' gives any skin care pro a base to go off of and I feel that is the best place to start.

I hope you like the theory.
