At-home eqipment - hand-held or small machines

Does anyone have recommendations for hand-held devices:  facial brushes, laser lights, face lifting or toning.  Recently my clients and others who know me reqest such devices and I am not sure which ones are the best.  I would appreciate your feedback.

I have several hand-held LEDs from Lightstim.  I give these to inflamed acne clients that don't seem to be responding to the homecare regimen as fast as they should be (so rare).  It really helps their skin to "turn the corner".

Most of my time is spent consulting or training these days and I only see a handful of clients that I have been seeing for decades.  But I can tell you from what I have seen that the Clarisonic is being purchased by the long standing clients who are proactive with their homecare.  End users have told me they like the concept of cleansing their face with the brush and that the bristles are very soft. 

One of my clients with Rosecea was extremely irritated when I she came in for an apt and she told me she had purchased one and was using it every day - but I do not know that it was from the device.  She also started using a cleanser she purchased when she was on vacation as well as a masque.  I told her to back off everything untill she is no longer reactive, then start with only her new cleanser, if no reaction add back in the Clarisonic a once a week, if no reaction the masque and so on.  I will let you know if I think the device is too stimulating for inflammatory conditions.

NuSkin has a handheld galvanic that does work and sells well, if you do not mind multilevel  - I think they are also promoting it as a retail item without the whole multilevel concept.  Know that you will have to sell a pigment reducing product as well.  It does cause hyperpigmentation to those with predisposition.

One of the most powerful tools I have found over the years is the use of a hand held LED light.  I have worked with both the red and blue.  I used to tease my clients about grabbing my magic wand to make things disappear.  Well, My magic wand has arrived!!  I used it in treatment by itself, as an add-on service, and after waxing on very sensitive clients.  Truly amazing!!!  You have to do your research here.  The strength of the light is very important!!!  Just changing a plastic filter is not a true LED.  The results are immediate and do not have to wait for visible results.  Very easy upgrade!!!  Cost vary from $100-over a thousand. 

 

I also have used Microcurrent in the past as well.  Technology has really made this a very beneficial service.  The initial cost of treatment plus maintenance treatments can be very profitable.  It is temporary but WOW!!  Excellent up sell for eye treatments and special occasions too.
