Hi there,

I love using the cirepil blue hard wax but everyone seems to get so red from it when doing the face.  Any suggestions to lessen the redness?

Thanks!

I never experienced that.

Make sure you are using the pre wax oil and that your wax is not too hot. Hard wax should be at a lower temp. Usually just the edges should be all the way melted, and don't stir it.

Agreed re: hard wax although the family of blue waxes have not been my favorites in terms of how they handle (for for my comfort as the technician using them).  Also, how are you pre-treating the skin, and are you pulling your strips fast enough?  A slow pull will really induce redness for me and a lot of my clients.  What is your post-treatment protocol?  Could you add a little high frequency afterward for areas you know might get bumpy??

Thanks for your response.  I do use the pre cleanse and pre oil before I wax.   I have a double warmer but it doesnt read the temp, it just has low med high and I am constantly adjusting the dial to get the right temp.  What is the best warmer out there? I am thinking about switching to Berodin  wax when I am through with the cirepil.

I use Berodin wax and I love it. Price is comparable and I personally think its better than Cirepil. I do however use Cirepil pre/post products. Maybe just keep an icepack on hand or cool towels to soothe the irritation. Some people just get red so don't jump ship if other than that you like the product. Having an redness relief serum on hand might also help.

HI Roberta.  Do you use Berodin hard wax?  I had a wax in Miami and they used pine resin hard wax and it went on like butter.  Is Berodin similar to this?

Hi Rebecca,

Here is a link to Berodins web page.

As you can see there are minimal ingredients. Im not sure how I would describe it, only that I like the consistency. It sets nicely and pulls cleanly. I have tried a bunch of waxes that were tacky or gummy or just plain took too long to set up. For a hard wax I highly recommend  it. I use the aquamarine for soft wax and my speed waxing has dramatically improved. Very easy to put down a thin layer over a large area, and I not feel rushed.

Thanks so much. I'll give this a whirl!

Cirepil also has a hard wax called Cristalline which is made for clients who are sensitive and/or get extremely red after waxing.  Might be worth a try.

I use Body Wax Brazil Chocolate Wax that is great for sensitive areas. But when I used Cirepil, I used the Rose Hard Wax for the face only since it was better for sensitive skin.

Using high frequency, ice globes or a calming gel should help as well.

Thank you everyone for all your responses :)

Pina Colada non-polymer wax from The Wax Chick works great on the fine facial hairs and is super gentle.
