EXTRACTIONS- bt micro? ultrasonic spatula? extractor? fingers?

I would like to know what others recommend/use for performing extractions..

Do you use your extraction device on the majority of your clients? Would it take the place of a facial cleansing scrub when using a device?

I was told my dermasweep would perform extractions but not sure it's enough..

Hi, I do not replace any extractions with machine.  I use primarily manual technique for extractions, this way I can prevent any bruising of the epidermal layer.  This is just my opinion.  If you prepare the skin properly the sebum will be soft and extractions will be easy.

Thanks, Bella Forza NYC

Hi Bella what products do use to prep the skin well before extractions. Thank you

I use a variety of enzymes along with steam(if needed).. I remove product with an Ultra Sonic Spatula and may even do a few passes of my Dermasweep. I was looking for a good removable peel to prep with.. Any suggestions?

Hi

I use products with an alkaline pH for desincrustation combined with steam and galvanic on a negative pole.  I also use gentile exoliating to clean face.

I also use a lot of Vitamin C based products.  I find that they produce a beautiful radiance and the clients are so happy that they book another appointment right away.

I hope this helps.

Hi Sherry which vitamin c products do you use??

Where can you purchase the Dermasound?  What is the difference between the Dermasound and Sonic Spatula?

Hi Lisa, I purchased the Dermasound through Glymed Plus.  They do great with their phone support but the question to ask is, do they have a rep in your area to help with training.  It's not difficult to use but I feel training with an experienced rep can help to really understand the machine and use it to it's highest potential.  This machine does more than just help with comedones.  For example, the Dermasound can also perform sonophoresis and microcurrent.  Understanding the settings and technique is important to obtaining maximum results.    I personally have never used the Sonic Spatula so I can't say what the differences are between the two machines.

Do you like the results your clients get from the Dermasound?

Thank you for this helpful information!

Lisa

Before I purchased the Dermasound I researched it and actually had a rep come in and demonstrate for me.  I then prepared my clients for the new services to come.  To get them excited and to get an idea of how much interest there would be in the Dermasound.  My clients were thrilled with the idea of a more advanced treatment and so I brought the machine in about 3 months later.  I have never regretted it.  The Dermasound is so versatile I can use it alone as a service or do a quick 15 minute add-on to a facial and I like to use the sonophoresis after a chemical peel to aid in the penetration of products.  The main thing clients love about the Dermasound is the smoothing out of their fine lines and clearing out of the pores.  I did an event soon after I purchased it that included a complimentary lip treatment with the Dermasound.  It conditions and plumps those lips up and I booked appointments easily after that.

So, with that all said, I love the results my clients get.  Clients rebook and some clients have been coming in for monthly Dermasound treatments for over 2 years.  Great investment for me and my clients.  I have a before and after picture if that would help you

Awesome! I would love to see before and after. Can I ask you what you paid for machine and what you charge your clients?

Lisa, Off the top of my head I can't remember the exact price I paid for the Dermasound, but it was under $5,500.00.  I think when applying a price to a service we can only charge what we know we need to cover our cost and what our clients will pay.  Every area is going to be different.  My clients will pay $100 an hour.  Are you using the Glymed skincare line?

I have attempted to attach a file of the before and after photos.  Let me know if I did it right.  First time for me

Hi, what is your protocol for the lip treatment, if you don't mind sharing?
