Hello! If you have a lot of modalities at your disposal, you can certainly build a treatment of this sort with most any professional skincare line.
I do a 90 minute facial where I do the following:
-cleanse and analyse
-arm and hand massage while skin dries
-advanced exfoliation (usually microderm, dermaplaning, or a peel)
-extractions
-high frequency
-infuse mask with microcurrent or ultrasound
-upper body massage while mask remains on skin
-remove mask
-LED light
-a few minutes of scalp massage
-eye cream, serum, moisturizer, SPF, and lip
The key is that you want to exfoliate and bring antioxidants into the skin before the LED, but the skin does need to be clear of any products before LED (the exception would be if you have a clear antioxidant serum, like green tea extract).
Remember, you are also using each step as an opportunity to explain what you are doing, the active ingredients, and introduce them to the idea of their at-home skincare which you will lay out for them at the end of the treatment.
Hi Cathy, I'd love to hear more about the RF you are using if you're open to sharing! What machine, how long have you been using it, how did you choose, how do you like the results, any complications on your watch? Thanks in advance!
You should probably do a little more research into RF. IMO - It's not really a very safe modality for the face.
I have done combo modality treatments, but would never combine all those above - that's just ridiculous! It is not a luxurious treatment - it's just overpriced (and stupid)
LED can be combined with almost anything (except microcurrent), the Oxyinfsion treatment is great with microdermabrasion, and your don't really need anything else with microcurrent.
Hi Cindy,
Quick question why do you say LED and micro-current shouldn't be combined? I am not aware of any contra indicators so this will be the something new I learn for today.
There is NO contraindication for using both together.
Microcurrent should be used on it's own though for best results.
Someone explained to me that LED relaxes facial muscles and MC stimulates... so if you want to do both together do LED first (I was doing it the other way).
Now I just do them in separate sessions
Good to know, thank you Cindy!
Also curious about the contraindication of LED and microcurrent - I have been doing it for years although my microcurrent machine is not very strong. What are your feelings on Oxygen treatments? I am conflicted re: oxygen and free radicals, and have never gotten an answer that convinced me of this treatment (although I occasionally mix up a batch of Circadia's Oxygen treatment for acne, but I treat it the same way I would treat BPO).
Also, are you concerned about RF because it tightens by burning fat? I also worry about loss of facial fat. But how do you feel about it for the neck? If I were to introduce it, it would be primarily for firming neck and decollete.
Finally, can we talk a little more about microcurrent? I am interested in bringing in a "better" (more professional than the handhelds that I use now... better results, etc.) microcurrent system, I am just so confused about the huge range of devices and prices and, same, have never heard an answer that persuaded me. What are your thoughts???
Nope - no contraindications - I never said there were. See above.
RF is damaging to tissues. It is NOT a safe treatment. I don't think a lot of people understand exactly what is IS - they are just looking for immediate "results"
