I've written about this line to many people on here before, it's called Botanical Science and I absolutely love it. Since I've written about it so many times, I will kind of copy a post I already wrote here, and add in some details for you. And no, as I've mentioned to a few other people before, I do not just make commission off of recommending this line to people, lol, at least I never asked about it, I just truly love it this much, and I love to share hoping other esty's can have the same awesome experience with it as I do.
Botanical Science - this is a private label company, This is the main line that I use, along with a smaller collection of Eminence products. Since this is private label, you do put your own name on the products (I just went to my local copy store and had labels printed for them).
I actually discovered this line in school, this is one out of the three lines I was trained with. The other 2 were Sothy's and Nauthopathica. I used to have acne when I was younger, and I spent hundreds of dollars on dermatologists and products that did absolutely nothing, or worsened my condition. To make the story short, I took matters into my own hands and started thoroughly researching and studying skincare ingredients. Based off of what I had learned, I was able to clear my own skin by using the right products without any pore clogging, and harmful chemicals. However, although my skin cleared up, it had officially become very sensitized from the hell I put it through with all of the garbage products and harsh chemicals. Also, then later internal issues had made it very sensitive, and I am still very sensitive to this day, the difference between now and then is that now I can keep the sensitivity/rashes/outbreaks under control with the products I use. I was having those kind of sensitivity issues when I was in school, and the other 2 skincare lines seemed to make it worse, way too many sensitizing essential oils, or bad chemicals, caused outbreaks, so then I tried Botanical Science; and I absolutely loved what it did for my skin, I saw a huge improvement in my sensitivity issue, and ever since I decided this is the main line for not only me, but my clients. (Aside from Eminence) So I am a huge believer in BSI from personal experience, and experience with clients loving the results it gives as well.
Botanical Science comes up with the products themselves rather than buying from a manufacturer which is a huge plus, because you are buying directly from the company that actually produces the products. I like this line a lot because it's a full line that targets all skin types, and it has a VERY strong result-oriented anti-aging collection. This is definitely my go-too line for anti aging clients, especially sensitive ones. BSI is mainly a natural line, the natural ingredients are grown and harvested, but it is not 100% natural which means they use natural ingredients as their main ingredients to do most of the work, and the rest are more traditional medical ingredients; however they don't use any harmful chemicals or ingredients in majority of their products and that's a biggie. (I say majority of their products because there are a few, about 4 products that I do not like, and will not order - I don't think any skincare line can be that perfect right, but the majority rules obviously enough that I am able to make this my main line and have more than enough options for everyone).
Another huge plus: this line is very affordable, and you make very good profit off of the retail, which is rare for many skincare lines. For example, I order a 6oz retail size cleanser for $9, and their suggested retail price for this cleanser is $24-$35. Or, order a serum for $12.50, and retail price is anywhere from $34-$46. I usually make my prices somewhere in between, depending on what product it is. So I am making at least double to triple, sometimes even more off of a good quality product that I feel comfortable enough to put my name on. It's hard to beat that. The professional sizes are a really good value too, for example the professional size cleansers range from about $8-15, and they last forever. All of the pricing is on their website.
I have recommended this line, and passed it on to 2 etsy's on here so far, and they both absolutely love it.
www.botanicalscience.net - I highly suggest you check this line out, you have to get approved to look at the full website, product manual, pricing etc and usually they approve you within 1-2 business days. The representatives are VERY helpful, honest and informative (I work with Kelly), and upon request, they will send you a free sample pack of their cleansers, toners, masques and moisturizers, for you to try out first before you order. However, I am most intrigued by their serums (unfortunately I don't believe they don't make sample sizes for the serums). Another plus, There is no crazy minimum order, there's no minimum order at all. You can order sample size jars to give your clients samples of the product, and brochures with a prescription page/home care regimen inside. As I mentioned, this is private label, you do put your name on the products as if it's your line, so even the product brochure doesn't have "Botanical Science" anywhere on it.
To give you a few examples of what this line is all about, my favorite must have serums from BSI are:
Complex C Serum, which is a very light serum that contains a generous amount of Vitamin C, and Hyaluronic acid (a potent humectant for hydration), for ALL skin types, it protects the skin and fights free radicals which helps with anti aging, and the best part about it, is it can help with acne and sensitivity too, and not clog the pores. I use this serum on myself daily.
Luminous Peptide Serum, which uses not only a wealth of peptides, but other beneficial botanicals; minus any harmful chemicals that is clinically proven to diminish dark spots due to aging and sun damage and brightens the skin for an overall glow.
Sheer Berry Antioxidant Serum, a very light serum, that has the highest level of potent antioxidants than any other private label company anti aging product. (this product went through the ORAC system which scientifically measures the potency of antioxidants in skincare products-you can read about this on their website. Once again, infused with a wealth of healthy botanicals, excluding harmful chemicals or ingredients.
My favorite cleanser is the "Oxygen Cleanser" which gives oxygenating properties, infused with beneficial botanicals for all skin types especially anti-aging and acne.
My favorite masque is the "Soft Pumpkin & Papaya Masque", which can not only be used as a hydrating masque, but in place of a peel for more sensitive clients, as well as a good prep for extractions since it softens the skin, and promotes good exfoliation. I get a good glow out of this one.
If you are interested and want to know more about this line and the products, other then what's on the website, I can give you more details and tell you a little bit more about my must-haves, and the few products that I do not like and will not order (doesn't mean that you won't like them though). Other than that, Feel free to ask me any questions you would like.
As far as a private label make up line, I'm not quite there yet, but I have heard good things about "Your Name", one of the teachers I had in Esthetics school uses it for her business and trained us with it. "Your Name" has skincare products too, however I'm not so impressed with their skincare, not such a great value.

Hi Nina, you mention "harmful chemicals" twice in your post and I am just hoping to clarify what you mean by that. Could you please give us a couple examples of things that you consider to be harmful chemicals that you have seen recently, and in what product? Thanks, this helps so much. -C

What I mean by harmful chemicals is irritating & pore clogging ingredients such as this:
Sodium Lauryl/Laureth Sulfate - very commonly used in skincare products. Also used in detergents and surfactants that pose serious health threats. It's also used in car washes, garage floor cleaners and engines hmm...it has the highest comedogenic rating of 5. (Extremely pore clogging). It's a detergent so it leaves a layer of film on the skin trapping in bacteria, dead skin & debris. Also a known irritant, especially to the eyes. (also sodium ammonium lauryl/lor laureth sulfates)
Fragrances (cosmetic fragrances/Parfum) - very irritating to the skin. can cause allergic reactions. Also pore clogging.Cosmetic fragrance is made with cheap synthetic chemicals which replicate the natural aroma of products which already exist in nature. Companies use them because it is cheaper than using the natural scent. Even some essential oils can be irritating and pore clogging, such as lavander oil because of it's fragrant properties.
Mineral Oil: petroleum by-product that coats the skin like plastic, clogging the pores. Interferes with skin’s ability to eliminate toxins, promoting acne and other disorders. Slows down skin function and cell development, resulting in premature aging.
Alcohol, Isopropyl (SD-40): a very drying and irritating solvent that strips your skin’s moisture and natural immune barrier, making you more vunerable to bacteria, molds and viruses. It can also act as a “carrier” accelerating the penetration of other harmful chemicals into your skin.
FD&C Color Pigments: synthetic colors made from coal tar, containing heavy metal salts that deposit toxins into the skin, causing skin sensitivity and irritation.
Triclosan: a synthetic “antibacterial” ingredient – with a chemical structure similar to Agent Orange! enough said.
Another ingredient that we all know of, that's commonly used to fight Acne is "Benzoyl Peroxide"..harmful ingredient. When used for a week or 2, okay. Kind of like an antibiotic, you're only supposed to use anti biotics for so long before they have negative side effects on the body (some people like me experience these side effects almost instantly). It's not going to work after 1-2 weeks, that's why many people say wow pro-active really helped my skin for the first week or 2, and then all of a sudden skin got worse, or the products became ineffective. (Other than the fact pro-active uses other harmful chemicals with BP) It's too drying and too strong to do what it says it's going to do. It strips the skin, and we all know what happens already when the skin becomes stripped. So yes, it may clear up acne in some cases for a short period of time, but it is not actually solving the problem, and in the long-run it will probably worsen the problem. Not only that... The biggest secret behind benzoyl peroxide is that it releases free radicals into the skin. The oxygen-oxygen bond in peroxides is weak, so BP breaks down when in contact with the skin, producing benzoic acid and oxygen molecule (enter free radicals). And we all also know how bad free radicals are.
When I had acne, and just couldn't figure out why nothing was working, well guess what I was constantly using….benzoyl peroxide. And as I have mentioned before, I eventually figured it out, I did the research and I cleared my own skin using safe, natural alternatives to BP and all of these harmful ingredients in my cleansers, toners etc, but I noticed my skin had already become so super sensitized, and now I don't wonder why.
Those are just a few prime examples of "harmful chemicals & ingredients", but there are MANY more. I always recommend doing some research on skincare ingredients and comparing your research to any product your checking out. Yes, it can be a huge pain in the ass, but it may be well worth it for you, as it was for me. I've gotten used to it, so much that now I've just naturally memorized most of these things.
The first 7/8 ingredients in a product are what count the most, so if you see a lesser "irritating" or "pore clogging" ingredient at the very end of the list, I wouldn't necessarily cancel the product out. As far as pore clogging ingredients go, I'm not as strict about it with my clients who have dry or normal skin types, that do not clog or break out easily.
Oh and products that contain these ingredients: about 90% of the stuff you see in your local drug store. I've seen some of these ingredients (in large amounts) in skincare lines such Dermalogica, and pretty much 80% of the chemically based products you see out there.

Amy has turned me on to Botanical science,At first, I was very turned off by the cheapie packaging, I purchased a good amount from CBI Private Label & I cannot get past the scents of the creams & serums, something funky about it, I cannot sell it. Too bad because the packaging was nice. Ingredients impressive. However the BS products smell heavenly, everything, & im starting to LOVE...they also perform. BUT, the packaging UGH...so low budget, I have an affluent clientele with disposable money & im not sure they will even regard it......anyone have this problem? Im looking into Covalence & Vitelle labs for private label...would love feedback...& I do realize what I recommend should be enough my professional opinion supersede, I just feel something upscale on the shelves creates an interest...Id overlook it myself. I did.

Boy I haven't been on here in ages, been so busy. I turned Amy on to BSI (hi Amy-will be messaging you!) the packaging isn't the prettiest no, which I chose look at as kind of a good thing because there are too many skincare lines out there that put more money and effort into their packaging rather than their ingredients. Since BSI is private label, you do have the freedom to create a label that can really spice the look of these bottles up. I can send you a picture of mine, however, I am actually in the process of creating a new label layout for mine. I get them done at a local copy store, the man who does them really helps me creatively with everything, labels, business cards etc. I suggest that you look around for a copy store with a creative artist, and do what I have been doing - take a good look at other products that are the most attractive and eye catching to you, and based off what you see, start jotting down ideas and visions, go on font websites, then put all of those ideas together using your own personal touch. A good quality label = a good quality product in most client eyes. It's kinddd of like taking a good quality, but not-so-stylish and outdated looking dresser you got at the thrift store, and turning it into what looks like a brand new $800 dresser just by re-painting it and maybe adding some new hard wear. With a little bit of creativity (even go on Pinterest for ideas) you can turn anything in the world that looks boring and bland into something amazing and eye catching. Like I said, thats what's so great about private label, you can do just about whatever your heart desires with it. And since these BSI products have such high quality ingredients, it's worth putting in all of the effort to dress them up. These are YOUR products, you have to give them the valuable look that they deserve. hope that helps:)

Yes this helps, Alot, you have motivated me!!! Im going to start working on a label today, is it possible you can email me a pic of your label on the products?? Especially the chealpie jars with the dome lids, [some of the jars are nicer] & I think some of the cleanser, toner & stand up tube products need a little distraction with a WOW label. Amy & I have been in contact, We did some phone conferencing, she is awesome, very passionate about her craft..She just went to a skin show & is sending me info she picked up...very thoughtful!!..were going to Skype soon to network & brainstorm some more

I'm in the process of revamping my label also, but am currently working on my websit which is taking me a thousand years. I'm too much of a perfectionist!
