I am a new esty (licensed 10/2011) I have a personal acne situation I would like your assistance on. In the past year I have been dealing with cystic acne, nodules and pustules. I think some of it is hormonal, but I'm not sure about the rest of it. I have done microderm, glycolic peels, enzymes, I take cod liver oil and I use skin script rx in my daily care. I seem to be getting it under better control, but it's not completely gone. Even when I do not have an outbreak i still have small bumpy areas on my cheeks and sometimes my chin or forehead. Is there anything else I could possibly do to get my smooth skin back ?

Hi Sandra :)
I always recommend to my clients that they start taking good supplements such as Floragen (a probiotic for the health of your gut), and a good immune support like zinc. If you don't already use a clarisonic I highly recommend that as well...I have found a great alternative at a much nicer price called Nutrasonic that has gotten great reviews and I have discussed it on another esty board I belong to, and heard great things there too.  Also be sure to be properly hydrating with hylauronic acid. Since you are using Skin Script (as do I) I feel confident recommending the Green Tea/Citrus Cleanser once a day, the Glycolic cleanser once a day, glycolic/retinol pads 2-3 times per week, hydrating serum (with hylauronic) every day, Vitamin C/Green Tea serum daily, and either Light Aloe moisturizer or Ageless Skin Moisturizer.

Also since you mentioned bumpy area on your forehead, please double check the ingredients in your hair products for their comedogenic rate.

Best of luck and congratulations on your upcoming 1 year esty anniversary!!

also forgot to mention, if you haven't tried the passionflower enzyme (if it is still available, it comes out a few times a year) it is the BEST!!! It smooths bumpy skin, is amazing for acne, clears up stubborn little blackheads on noses etc...

I am definitely going to look into getting the passionflower enzyme.

Hi Anne, Yes i believe in taking the supplements too. I've been taking the codliver oil and the omega 3's regularly for about 2 months now. However I have not used zinc, and definitely have not thought about a probiotic....I will be considering it now though. I do not have a clarisonic but I'm going to look into the one you recommend (thanks). I am actually using those same products that you mentioned (from skinscripts) also the blemish control cleanser. Which I am starting to think I am needing to look more into nutritional and supplemental support , or at least a healthy balance of it all. Thanks for your input.

I agree I have my clients take a good supplement as well.  I usually recommend probiotics and green food powders.  I like the vibrant health a lot because it has everything in it including probiotics, but there are many out there.  I use the osmosis products on my clients so I can't comment on skin script.    I also agree with checking your hair products.

Stephanie what is the link to the vibrant health products ? I'm always interested in this sort of thing. I use supplements and suggest to my clients too, but do not necessarily have a specific brand I work with . I dont think that some of the small bumps I get are from hair products though, mainly because I rarely wear my hair in my face. Based on some of the acupressure points of the face I see that they are mainly in the liver points. Thinking I may do a cleanse that focuses on this ?

thanks for your insight and suggestions. :)

Vibrant Health-Green Vibrance is at Vitamin Shoppe or on Amazon it cost about the same at both places.  Almost any health food store.  I like it because I don't have to buy 4 different things all I need it the one.

Sounds like to me you need some mandelic and/or vitamin a propionate serums in your homecare. If you outline your homecare to me step by step, I can help you tweak it.  I especially need to know what "actives" you are using.  I run/own an acne clinic and I see skin like yours every day.

Thanks Laura, I will be sending you a message to see what you suggest. Appreciate your help.
