I would love to know your thoughts on why/when a client will manifest with more superficial inflamed acne or deeper, cystic or nodular acne.

Why do you suppose some people's bodies (immune systems) react mildly and some dramatically to the invasion of p. acnes?   I have twin 13-year-old boys in my program who came in with severe inflamed acne (both had gone the derm route and had been on long-term antibiotics before they started with me) and although they certainly had their share of surface eruptions, they both seemed to have a disproportionate number of large, deep lesions.  Even today, several weeks into the Face Reality program that I use - to which they had been astonishingly compliant for being 13 and boys, if they are going to develop a new pimple, it's going to be big and deep and hard.

Wouldn't this speak to a tendency to be chronically, systemically inflamed?  Like that they need to assess foods for sensitivity, or being taking large amounts of internal anti-inflammatories like turmeric?

Thanks, all you brilliant minds!

I have identical twin cousins, age 43, and they are both blond hair, blue eyes and their father is 100% Italian - darker, olive skin.   Looking at them they appear to be Fitz 1, as they are very fair.  However, one twin easily tans while the other cannot even be out in the sun 5 minutes without starting to burn.  And the one who develops a tan easily also hyperpigments while the twin does not at all.  Just random genetics?

I think it's an inherited tendency.  Are they drinking milk?  Are they icing?

does milk cause acne? sorry I keep asking you so many questions Laura :)

@Candace - milk not the "cause" of acne, but it sure does exacerbate it. To read more about the cause of acne go here:  http://facerealityacneclinic.com/articles/what-is-acne.php

Ok thanks Laura :)

Sorry for the late acknowledgement of your replies to my question.  For some reason, I am no longer getting emails when a reply is posted....

Inherited tendency...interesting.  One was drinking TONS of milk, and when he cut down dramatically, within about 8 weeks, his skin was much better.

Thanks for your thoughts on this.
