hello all :)
I am by no means an acne expert (most of my clientele are 50+) however, I recently had a 16 year old girl in for an acne facial. The acne on her face is not actually acne at all, but I believe it to be dermatitis...can anyone recommend products to help clear that?
During the skin analysis I couldn't help but notice her shoulders were covered in red cysts that could not be extracted at all...I asked if it was on her back...she shyly said yes and I asked her to sit up...I have never seen acne anything like this in my life! Her back was completely covered with those cyst like red bumps AND terrible scarring...almost keloid scars...small, raised and white...I have no idea how to deal with this...I have advised her and her mother about supplements and all that so please don't suggest that at this time...I really just want to know if there is something I can do thank you!!!

Ugh, how sad, thats gotta be painful for her! Just our of my own curiosity, what supplements did you recommend? I am new to this field so I would love to know. I have only heard of the B5 I beleive it is, like taking 5000 mg a day or something like that and avoiding dairy.
Does she play sports or anything? Probably hormones are playing a part too.
I hope you get some great feedback on this because I would love to hear what people have to say.
Good luck!
No she doesn't play sports and that is another reason why it is so heartbreaking to see...and she is such a pretty girl! A good probiotic (like Floragen) as well as zinc, Vit E and B complex is what I recommend. They are a pretty holistic family...raise and grow a lot of their food...I just want to help her so much!
Good to know for future reference, thanks! I also picked up some of the zinc Laura mentioned. My sister has a case of facial acne going on and I want to try to help her internally as well. I too suffer from the monthly breakout so I am always looking for other remedies.
Have a great day!
Can you post pictures? The best thing would be a 10% benzoyl peroxide put all over the area (not just the cysts). This is only a start. Get her started on a zinc monomethionine supplement (100 mg a day) with food. If the cysts are huge, it might be staph - have her go to an m.d. to test for it. Go to my website for a ton of free information on acne - it's all I do. http://www.facerealityacneclinic.com
she is coming in next Sat so I will ask to take pics...idk if she will be ok with that however so I can't promise to get some posted...she is such a sweet thing and shy and so self concious about this condition that I am treading lightly with her...the cysts are not super huge but I will still mention this to her mom Laura, that is very interesting! I am going to your website right now! thank you!!!
