Please share how you became interested in acne care; or what brings you to this group.

I'll start - I had acne since I was 13 years old.  I was getting into my mid-thirties and my acne just kept getting worse.  Typically, I tried everything - prescription topicals, years of antibiotics, facials, drugstore products (remember Bonnie Belle 10-0-6 Lotion, Stridex pads, Noxema?), went to estheticians.  Well, I finally found an esthetician who got me clear.  I was amazed and knew that I just had to do this work!

I became an esthetician over twenty years ago and was a sole proprietor for fifteen years.  My dream was to focus only on acne and have an acne clinic. That became a reality over five years ago.  As was my intuition, the clinic grew amazingly fast.  We not only served local clients, but started getting clients from around the world with our Long Distance Program.

Then, other estheticians started asking what I was doing. At first I gave classes and then out of that, an instructional dvd followed.  I now have wholesale clients all over the United States.

I've got the best job in the world!  Not only do I have the satisfaction still of helping people to have clear skin, I also love mentoring my employees and wholesale clients to do the same.

Hi Laura,

I am SO happy to have found these groups, and to hear your story. I, too, am most passionate with my acneic clients; I have struggled with acne since my early teens and know and understand the impact it can have on ones life.

I'm VERY interested in your instructional dvd and product line. You name it, I've tried it. I even have the Isolaz and offer those treatments but they tend to be expensive and like all regimens, require dedication and commitment. In these economically challenged times not many of my clients can afford packages of laser treatments, and I charge a fraction of what most others do for Isolaz. My goal is to deliver CLEAR, acne-free skin without antibiotics, RX topicals, or for those who cannot afford the Isolaz laser treatments.

With that said :) I'd like to learn more about becoming a wholesale client and purchasing the dvd.

Thank you and I'm very excited about learning and sharing with my clients!

Hi Erin - It sounds like you definitely have the passion to help people!  The wonderful thing about our system is it's low cost.  I've always maintained that one doesn't need to buy/have expensive machines to get incredible results with their acne clients - it's at least 90% in using the right homecare products in the right way.

Proven Strategies for Treating Acne

Hello Laura and other acne specialists.  I'm a new esty (but older woman).  Here is my story.  When I was a teenager I had acne, and it was very hard to live with.  Although I hid behind make-up, I wanted to stay in dark lit rooms whenever I could.  I had a hard time looking people in the eye when talking to them knowing they could see all my bumps behind that make-up.  More than anything I wanted to find a solution, but never did.  Eventually it cleared up as I got older, and I even had a dermabrasion at the age of 19 in 1984 to get rid of scars I had.  It was the best thing I ever did, but today there are alternatives to this aggressive treatment which I am trying to now incorporate into my own business.  Today I’m a mother of a teenage son who has acne, and I have become passionate to help him get rid of it.  We first went to an esthetician to see if she could help his condition after a series of chemical peels.  Although it improved, we still didn’t have the kind of outcome we were hoping for.  Next we went to a dermatologist who didn’t touch his face, but took one look at him and prescribed him Doxycyline.  The antibiotics worked well for a year, then his body became resistent to it.  In the meantime, I decided to become an esthetician myself, and find a solution once and for all.  We experimented with LED blue light therapy and had some success, but still not enough.  Soon my son begged me to put him on Accutane out of desperation.  However, I just couldn’t bring myself to allow him to go on something that could give him potentially harmful side-effects.  I wanted to find something that worked without putting him on antibiotics, Accutane or any kind of medication.  Then I found Dr. Neal’s Acne Bootcamp program online.  I read his story and listened to many others and saw their untouch, documented before and after pictures with proven results.  We immediately decided to jump on board and get him started on the Home Version program.  After five months my son’s acne is now clear and his skin looks great. (see before/after photos on my website:  http://www.feelgoodinyourskin.com/beforeandafterphotos/    We used this program and along with my routine facials and microdermabrasions, good eating habits, a routine work-out regimen and high quality vitamins, he has turned his face (and life) around.   I have since become an affiliate of Dr. Neal in my area to help others who might be on his program in need of estethician treatments to help with our services.  He is looking for other affiliates to help his clients in their areas as well.  I'm passionate about helping others and learning as much about acne and how to help clear it using the right products, techniques, education, etc.  I very much appreciate all the information I am getting from this site too and am excited to use these resources to help further my 'new' education in the acne area.  Thank you to everyone on here!

Hi all,am kenyan lady with african skin.I have had acne since high school, now am 29. Like many acne sufferers ,i have come across tens of 'solutions',spent thousands of shillings on products, prescriptions, lasers ....name it.But luckily,i dint give up,i have continued with researching as i knew there had to be a solution to this.

My acne is now under control, only after learning to use the right combination of products and use the right way.I still have a few scars (see my profile picture).

AND YES,i have embarked on my journey to becoming an acne specialist. In kenya we do not have acne specialists, only dermatologists and spas.

I have decided to start by taking a beauty therapy course ,which is what is offered here in Kenya ,takes about five months .This will get me introduced into the industry as i firm my foot in specializing in acne treatment.
