Everyone has had the terrible, frightening experience of getting wax in some place we didn't mean to. Eyebrows, eye lashes, hair and let's not forget the dreaded bikini wax errors!
I had rushed into a client after having a fender bender and was running late and I didn't want the client to be late which was bad judgment on my part because I ran wax right down her eye lid and right into her eye lashes, which of course as it hardened waxed both top and bottom lashes together!! WHOAAAAAA,, sweat, panic, shock. I wanted to run out of the room and get someone else in. 20 minutes later I saved her eye lashes, amen. Although I had to comp the service which was the least I could do.
Two phrases of advice, "DON'T PULL" and "DON'T PANIC".
Should you get wax where you didn't want it the worst thing you can do is pull the wax, which will pull of the hair from exactly where you didn't want it, like someone's entire left eyebrow or their whole row of eye lashes.
What you do want to do is remain calm. Simply keep your voice calm and just tell the client that you will get the wax out you will just need a few minutes to oil it out, even the eye lashes.
Get oil and a gauze pad and gently rub. You may need to work it though your fingers and start to slip the wax off. Don't rush it, just explain to them that you have done this before and you have all the confidence that you will get it off unscathed.
Another tip. Make sure the wax is not too hot. It will run and be difficult to control the application
GOOD LUCK!

Years ago everyone in my salon learned how to do Brazilians after one of us went to a class and came back and taught us. One of the estys was pretty fresh out of school but fearless. Well, I was busy finishing a blow-dry (I do hair too) when she came up to me and in a panicked whisper told me that she'd "glued her client together" doing a Brazilian. Well, I had her finish my hair client and went back to see what was up. Sure enough, the poor client had been glued together on the "hood" area. The esty had put the soft wax on (!) and compounded the error by putting on more and more when the first strip didn't lift wax. So basically there was a LOT of wax and I spent the next half hour patiently picking wax off this client. Luckily our salon served wine, so the poor woman was pretty relaxed about it all. I finished her whole Brazilian and must have been so professional and reassuring that she came to see me the next month!! Wow, was that a day to remember!
