I posted this in another area, as well, I think the question is more geared toward this forum.

I am starting a new skin care company and I am lost at where to start, I don't know how to get the word out about my products and I am unsure as to how to approach business owners.  I love making skin care products and I think my products are unique but when it comes to selling the products I have not succeed at it yet.  All of the products I sell are hand-made and are completely organic.  I know that many of you have been in the skin care profession for some time.  Do you have any tips on how to start a skin care business, how to attract quality representatives and how to get the products in stores?  Thank you.

I am a still a student but I do want to open my own business. I know that some of you have a facebook professional page. I am learning how to market my self. As a student still, I need more clients to come to the school. My question here is this: As a student can I create a facebook professional page that will direct more people to my school for me to service? Has anyone done this before?

I just read an excellent article on why small business owners need to make sure they have general liability insurance coverage, in addition to professional and product liability. It' worth a quick read:How to Protect Your Business from Lawsuits

I would like to know how do you advertise for your business.

This is why I love these sites.  I just became an Independant Contractor myself and now have this opportunity.  That is a good question and there would have to be something in the contract stating that I would not be responsible for any payments not made.  Thanks!!

I am not in this position but would that make you liable for all the rent and insurance liability if the current renters back out of any arrangements made?

hello-

the current owner of the spa I contract out of wants to step back and just become the landlord.  The idea is she would rent 3 of the rooms to me (1 is an esthetics room and 2 are massage rooms)  the 2 massage rooms I would rent to the current therapists working there.  she would charge a monthly rent to me and I would charge a percentage of services or monthly rent to therapists.  In turn I would help with advertising the thearpists as well as myself. Is anyone out there in that situation?  Comments and suggestions welcome!  Thanks

Is there a check off list of for compliance in general for estheticians?  If so, where or how can I obtain one?
