I was wondering if any of you use high frequency direct or indirect.  I have a few questions.  I have metal rim glasses that I need to wear to be able to see.  Is this going to affect my client in anyway.  Also would anything happen if I wore a smock that has a metal zipper or pants with a metal zipper?  Last question I have, I hear that you cant sit down on a stool while giving your client any high frequency treatments due to the stool having metal.

I know that the client cant have any jewerly on (same for esthetician) and cant receive a high frequency treatment if they have a pace maker, braces, metal pins or plates, piercings that cant be removed.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you.

I don't believe the glasses or a zipper will affect you or client- jewlery or large belt is different. You should be safe sitting in stool since you are not actually physically touching the metal. If your concerned just stand or use none metal stool. Wear scrubs or pants with no zipper, the glasses are only thing it sounds like you 100% need..

Thank you Natalie.

There is absolutely no truth in all that. I've been using HF for 22 years. I used jewelry, I sit during treatment and there are MANY clients who have body piercings that cannot be removed, etc.  They CAN receive HF if they have braces, pins or metal plates (I have a client who has screws on her elbow from an accident she had) and absolutely NOTHING happens.  I would NOT use it if the person has a pacemaker, though.

Schools tell you all these horror stories just to be on the safe side. In my 22 years of being an Aesthetician, I have NEVER EVER EVER encountered ANY problem with metal touching the skin (client's or mine).

So have at it!! :-)

Thank you Monica for all the information.
