I have been open about 9 months and as expected it is taking time to really grow a steady clientele.  My menu is somewhat limited.  Waxing seems to be what is growing fastest.  I also offer facials and have retail.  I believe a balanced service menu would be beneficial but don't want to go off half cocked.  Any suggestions for services to add that others are successful with?

I've had success with lash and brow tinting. It's one of those small services (like facial waxing) that really adds up due to a) very low cost and b) taking little time to perform. I also offer a small eye package -  lash & brow tint with brow wax that is surprisingly popular.  Intensive is the brand I use, Universal Companies sells a "Success Kit" which has everything you need to start up (including directions and some marketing materials).
Chemical peels, electrotherapy and micro dermabrasions. I find that the more result-oriented services seem to move better in this soft economy.
Hi Susan..Can a Licensed Esthetician perform IPL ( Intense Pulse Light) Hair removal in the state of Florida?
I am not positive on that one.  There are not a lot of things that are heavily regulated in Florida from what I am finding out.  I am still new here myself and find the state's scope of practice vague to say the least. They do not really list specifics of what you can and cannot do.  Joellen Schillaci would probably be better at answering you as she is an instructor for a school here in Florida.  I am kind of putting a list of things together that I am going to call the state board with for clarification.  I am sorry not to be more help.
No, you need to have special certification for IPL. I think it's under the laser & electrologist license.
