Hi I am in Crystal River moving my practice from Ocala. I am an independent practicioner also.I had a space leasing out to booth renters and am now putting together a solo studio.I am also moving 30  miles away from a huge clientele.

I had a big life changing thing happen and my priorities are all different now. I also have no fear anymore about not having enough clients. I will post my progress as this should be interesting and hopefully an inspiration. I will help anyone with marketing ideas and technical advise. I want to see our industry grow and be the best. This is a great idea by the way to have a support group.

I am glad to see more people joining this group.  If any of you have ideas or information on marketing or services or just anything that you feel might benefit any of the members of the group please write a quick comment.  This is a tough economy to overcome and any thoughts would be appreciated by all especially the small business operations.  Thank you in advance for any and all contributions.

I have been here in New Smyrna Beach since January 2010.

As a transplanted Californian my heart will be forever rooted in my home state - nevertheless, I am truly impressed with the beauty of this tiny Florida beachside community and hope to grow in my affection for this lovely place.

A good portion of the population here are  transient snowbirds who swoop in for a 6 month stay. Building a loyal following seems like it may be a challenge that I will need to work hard at overcoming.

With all this Florida sunshine skin care is a priority and one I will work to champion.

@Susan, Unless the school sends a group up, I'll probably only be at Premiere if I am working at the Let's Talk Makeup/SofTap booth doing permanent makeup demos; otherwise it is too much expense for what you take away.

@HBH, the rate in my area (Treasure Coast) to teach Esthetics and Cosmetology (and every other subject as an adjunct instructor) is $15.10 per hour. That's at a  state college. It might be different at a private institution.

Just curious as to how many of us will attend the Premier Show in Orlando? It would be nice to put faces with names if any of us could meet up at some point at the conference.

Hi I am interested in a teaching position with an aesthetics school.  The job entails teaching facial basics using the Milady curriculum and the owner seems positive and passionate about the profession.  I would like to do it but need to know the going rate.  I have plenty of on the job experience and continually attend professional devolopment classes, seminars yearly in addition to the Florida State licensing school.  Your help in providing a guideline is greatly appreciated.  Please let me know - thank you!!!!!  H

I was hoping we would get more response for us all to share.  If you know any Florida Estheticians that would be interested in joining in, pass the word.
