With the milla, I tell people it's like asthma, a condition they will alwaysneed to manage. Glycolic/retinol And extractions are like the inhaler. It seems like they can only be extracted when they are close enough to the surface nomatter what the size of lancet/tool.

@julie, My first client had problems with not having enough moisture with the Max Cream, So I had her add the Total Repair Cream to it and that seems to do the trick for her. But I have noticed that too, there should be a really really rich cream for our older thinned skin ladies.

@Erin, I will definitely be calling Image about the DVD. It wasn't cheap either. I have seen more info on utube about the peels than this one.  Also I think I will take pictures and hope they turn out good enough you can see the results. Good to know about the salicylic getting hot with oily clients. Also what does everyone use for the removal of Milia, I have lancets that have worked in the past but this clients milia is so keratinized I think I need a bigger lancet. What guage do you use and is it a special lancet tool. Also have you had luck with the salicylic dissolving the keratin to make the removal easier. She is really loaded with Milia. She had them removed from the Derm but they all came back. Which products would work best as home care once we are done with the peel to keep them from coming back. Sorry for all the questions. But you gals help me out more than my rep does....

I would definitely try your idea of taking her off the tonic and putting her on the Ageless Total Repair.  Since she is so dry I would think this will be enough to help with her break outs, any flakiness, and aging, too, of course!  I do pat whatever is left on my fingers under my eyes, too, and then put the eye cream over that for an extra 'boost' per se.  I will never buy the Clear Cell pads nor will I recommend them to anyone.  They really burn that bad.  And my skin is pretty conditioned from peels and using glycolic products.  Have you tried the hyaluronic acid serum?  I really like it.  Although I am so oily I do get dehydrated.  Skin care is baffling!!  I do like how Image is pretty simple and not overwhelming with tons of products.  I do wish they had a product that is really really heavy at moisterizing extremely dry types.  My mother needs this and nothing from Image is enough for her needs....yet :)

Thanks, Julie- I don't plan to carry them b/c they have alcohol in them, too... I'd rather just sell the tonic. I know the pads can be convenient but I don't have enough "use" for them to keep them on my shelf.

My client is VERY dry...so I'm worried I may be overdrying her skin with the salicylic, since it dries oil-and she has none!! :-P

I really like the idea of the eye lift creme for the milia... I will probably suggest that to her... I'm wondering if I should just take her off the tonic entirely.... replace it with the ageless total repair.....
?????
I hate when I get baffled. Haha!

Hi Gina.  The Clear Cell pads are extremely drying and they really, really burn my skin so I cannot use them.  When I did use the pads my skin would just hurt and I would have to splash my skin to remove the product and cool my skin.  I'm 42 and have very oily, easily clog prone, hormonal skin.  I was very suprised at how strong the Clear Cell pads are.  I do like using the Clear Cell Cleanser 2-3X/week to help exfoliate and my skin has adapted well to this.  I just wanted to give you my personal feeling about the Clear Cell pads.  I also get milia very easily on my forehead.  I didn't want to throw the pads away so I just spot treat areas that are clogged or broken out.  I do love the Ageless Total Repair Cream for aging, acne, and clogged pores.  While I'm not dry it does help with the flakies.  I love the Hyaluronic serum and have added that to help when my skin feels deydrated.  I have heard great things about the Clear Cell Claryfying Tonic and how it's not near as strong as the Clear Cell pads and I would keep her on this over the pads.  The Total Eye Lift Cream helped with the milia around my eyes- I'm sure it was the glycolic and retinol.

CLIENT: very dry, dehydrated skin with milia around eyes, some bumps on forehead. Gets hormonal breakouts. Around mid-40's.

TREATMENT: Signature Facial- she LOVED IT- really helped smooth her skin.

PRODUCTS: b/c of the extreme dryness she was dealing with, I put her on the Vital-C line: Cleanser, Serum, Repair Creme, and Daily Defense Hydrating.  It was suggested to me by someone at Image to put her on the Clear Cell pads for the milia, so I put her on the tonic since I don't have the pads on my shelf....

QUESTION:

She is coming back in for a facial soon- when I asked her how her skin is doing, she said it feels great, but she is getting some breakouts. She said she thinks her pores are being cleaned out, and that it's a good thing, but I am concerned I don't have enough exfoliation in her routine, OR- I am concerned she may be overusing the tonic- plan to discuss this with her....

Should I add the Ageless cleanser for 1x/day or maybe have her use the Ageless Total Repair Creme a 2-3x/week? Would the Clear Cell Acne medication be too drying??

Dry skin that breaks out is tricky.....

Any ideas?? I don't want to overwhelm her with too many new products....

Prep looks right on target.  The acne lift gets hot with the higher amount of oil the client has.  Like others noted start with the 2 minute initial tx, may not even get that long dependant on her activity level.  Yes, cool towels too.  You could start with the Gly/Retinol if you are hesitant of the Salicylic.  And then move to the Acne lift for the 2nd peel.  Visual aids are great, but nothing like geting some guinea pigs and trying them out!

Jackie,

I agree with you about the peel dvd, personally I thought it was a waste of money as they showed me what I already knew about it all. Feel free to voice your opinion about it to customer service and hopefully they will revise it and include more useful information. I think your pre-treatment sounds pretty good. Do you take before and after photos? I have found this to help a lot when I do peels, it makes the clients extra excited to see the outcome as long as you explain the outcome realistically. Let me know how it goes, good luck!

Jackie,

I think your pre peel home care is great! I would just start the client with 2-3 min to start. You can always go longer next time. Have a fan and cool towels available! I send them home with the post peel treatment but tell them to use for 2-3 days then to save for their next peel. You'll do great.
