The Wax Chick is all about continuing education.  Check out www.thewaxchick.com for hands-on classes, and educational dvd's for brow & Brazilian waxing.

Dvd's can be helpful, as well as watching demonstrations, BUT if you are still hesitant and having trouble then I would suggest private training.  Watching a dvd or demo of someone who has been doing it for years, it looks so easy, but there are so many things that need to be taken into consideration that rarely are mentioned that make all of the difference in the world to getting better and increasing your speed.  There is nothing like one on one training with someone who is able to take you from where you are and make you better.  I do private training and have a very comprehensive dvd coming out soon.  Give it a thought.

I really want to.. I have at least 4 dvd's on the subject. And I have watched Lori the wax queen in Vegas 6 yrs ago.

Oh Jan, it makes me sad that you gave up Brazilians.  Legs I can see, but Brazilians...easy

money girl!  You just need the right instruction to push you to the next level.  Knowing

what to do and how to do it correctly increases your confidence so you feel prepared for anything.  Get some training and get back on that Brazilian bandwagon, you'll be glad you did.

I love waxing brows !! I have done a few Brazilians and such a hard time that I took it off my menu. I also had a client that wanted a bikini wax full leg and it took me 1 hr and 45 mins. I don't double dip and went through so many sticks. And was so tired I thought this isn't worth all this work. I want to be fast at these services. Wax will stick to the hair or just not work right and inside I am going insane !!  I am so glad I do great brows !  I want to say I only do above the belt. Anyone else feel like I do?

Hey Raquel,  It takes time to decrease your time.  Just keep at it.  You'll get into a groove.

Organization is the key to efficiency and speed.

I agree with Sally.  Let them know that you use hard wax and feel most confident with that.  If they are not willing to let you use hard wax, I would suggest postponing the interview until you are able to get more practice in with soft.  Soft can be very gummy in the warmer area of the Brazilian and if you run into trouble during your interview (and you don't know how to get yourself out of it) that could be worse than postponing.  On a side note, if you know what you're doing and you are a proficient hard waxer you can get the job done in as little as 15 minutes.  Soft wax isn't the only wax you can be fast with.

I use both. Start with soft wax/strips, but move to the hard wax which is gentler as I get to the more sensitive areas/folds. I think with soft wax you can get at quicker waxes...speeds up the process (and sometimes gets some hard to remove hair).

You mentioned you have taken a class, have you done some of these waxings, i.e. have some practice?

You might consider offering your technique (what you know) for the interview demo, but tell them that you are eager to learn their method.
