Hello,

I am starting my practice up again after being out for several years and I plan on using nitrile gloves for all of my services, facials included.

Do any of you use gloves for your facials?

Thanks.

Hi Gloria,

It depends on the situation. I've had some teen acne clients that had major pimples that would bleed

and ooze, that's one of the times when I use them for the whole facial. For your average client I generally don't use them for cleansing. When I do extractions, and microdermabrasion treatments yes. Otherwise I don't wear them with massage, mask either...

etc...

With Teresa on this one!

Hi Gloria!  I'm a newbie here and in the business as well (well, like you I was out for many years - coming back to skin now) and I like doing my facials with gloves. I do like them to be smaller so that way, the client can have a better experience with my touch, rather than feeling the 'plastic' of the gloves.

I wear gloves for almost the entire facial and my clients have never complained and I have actually gotten compliments on them.  I use the Diane nylon gloves.  They have a nice slip to them.

@Eh-Makeup...which gloves do you use.

Thanks!  Where can I find these gloves?

i get mine from Salon Centric

I have to wear gloves for most of my facial services because I have psoriasis on my hands and they get irritated quickly.  I use vinyl gloves which doesn't seem to bother anyone.  There is a great distributor Alexander's Aesthetics that has all your esthetic supplies.  You can order online or call the office, they ship everywhere.

 Hi Sheila,I use gloves during the entire facial including making massage and extraction. The client and I both feel protected. Your tip of the nylon glove are very helpfull. I went to the Salon Centric in my city and they have not Diane nylon gloves. Searching the internet I found a company that sells nylon Diane but I found it super super thick. How  you can do extraction and facial massage it with ? or will I find a Daiane gloves which is not the same as yours?  Could you please provide any number of reference would help a lot. Thanks for the valuable tip.

@Sheila

I honestly don't have a preference, as long as they are powder-free. But yeah, vinyl is what I mostly use. I'm a medium and I prefer wearing the small ones.

me too...the only paroblem I am having is these new boxes I picked up are a bit baggy in the wrist but still work well...I like the powdered though, they go on easier.  I always rip through the others trying to get them on.  LOL

Hello,

I'm unsure if you plan on using gloves for the entire facial, or just during the extractions.  I like to

use finger cots - instead of gloves. Gloves tend to make my hands sweat and sometimes

itch (though I don't believe I am allergic to either latex or nitrile).  It's just my preference, I hope this

helps you.

Diannna-when you finish with the extractions, would you be removing the cots and finishing the facial with bare hands?
