This is a great question! I wish I had the answer though.I know only medical esties can perform dermaplaning, but dermafile is not a scalpal as we know...it is impossible to get an answer on the license and regulations website...
Someone had responded to me with this, and here's what she found:
Here is the legislative code. https://docs.legis.wisconsin.gov/code/admin_code/bc/2/02 Ultrasonic, LED, anything considered a class 1 is acceptable. From the looks of it we can use everything except laser, electrolysis, and microdermabrasion ( except with cont'd training). So it looks as though we can use it. I really want to try this on clients (and myself)! Let me know if you're going to try it too.
I will most definitely offer this now! But I will have to wait until after the first of the year due to my having to take off 3 months for an injury and there are other priorities at the moment!
Thanks for the post ladies, I find it vary hard to find out what we can and can't do in WI, it really isn't very cut and dry. I've even emailed the state with no response. When I talk to other estis in our state I'm amazed at how little they know about our regulation, specially when it comes to peels.
We can not do laser hair removal unless under a dr correct? Which is confusing because I know of lady who offers it and isn't under a dr.
Yes you must be under a physician to do any laser anything In Wisconsin, and then I do think it is just laser hair removal no vein work or capillary work. I feel like all we can do is wash there faces in Wisconsin LOL
