Hi Vanessa, I just looked it up, it has no history with the BBB. It shows that it has schools in different places as far as affiliations but none of its own, I found one near me in Fresno, but none in Santa Monica although it originally gave an address. If you'd like I can give you the name of an established artist that can give lessons it is a better investment than school for makeup too.

Thanks, but I'm in oklahoma. I join University of Makeup, but I'm going to request a refund. I also joined Face it Pro and I like that so far.

So far I really do like it. Ive watched 3 videoes. It was less than $100. There were two more I was considering, but more expensive. One was Hex and the other one was QV Academy, I think.

The problems with University are she is hard to understand and she applies it on herself.

I have been looking for online resources as well... I have been licensed so long (and have had other jobs) that I just haven't kept up with the make-up industry... it is very hard to find a reputable, affordable place to get make-up education. maybe I am just not looking in the right places! I am afraid to pay $$$ and then not like the program...

I really do like Face it Pro. The two things I don't like are you have to do hair styles when you do your praticals & she does not have any African American models. Otherwise I like it. It is worth the $100.

If I had the money I would have done the Hex or QC Academy.

Hi Vanessa

I am replying to an old post as I have only just joined.  Are you still doing an online course and how are you finding it?  I think some of them are not accredited but they can teach a lot.  I was wondering how you were finding it as I have some of the University of Makeup books but haven't yet paid for a course and am not sure whether to try and find a part time college one or do an online one.  I have done college years ago, have a full-time job now and am more interested in make-up artistry and skin care rather than beauty therapy.

Hi, Sarah, Where I live there are not any makeup schools; however, I am a licensed Esthetician. I really enjoy my online classes except for the two issues above.

Hi - I can totally understand that as I had to do hairdressing with my beauty course years ago and that is why I didn't pursue it.  If I do a course I also want to learn about doing make up for all skin types, in particular African American as I want to be able to do make-up artistry for different skin tones.  I also think that element will be harder for me to study online but I can always practice on friends and people I know.  That's why I think by me doing an online only course I will miss out on practicing on different people as some of the online courses you are allowed to apply make up on yourself but I will not be getting the experience of what suits different people's skin tone, skin type etc.  A lot of the recognised courses here are in London and also full time and I need to work while I am learning!
