I have a student that smokes, a lot, is there any product I can buy for her to use on her hands? None of my other students smoke so the smell of cigarettes is always present when she does a facial. She washes well and uses hand sanitizer but that stench is still there. Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated. She has such a great technique and touch, I'd hate for a smoky smell to hold her back....thank!!

I use a product HandFoliant that is a combination of microdermabrasion crystals, nutrients and highly fragrant powders (clove, anise, cinnamon, cardamom, etc.) Just mix it with any hand soap (liquid) and massage into hands. Then rinse. Hands are soft and smell wonderful. Tell her I do encourage her to quit smoking....we need more great hands like hers in this world.
I will send you a sample. Email me at nutrientskincare@gmail.com

Thanks!
stop smoking! It's bad for your skin & bad for your health!!!!!
How about gloves as well?
Michelle,
Since she does wash her hands well, I'm wondering if the smell is coming from her hair and clothes. I have noticed that with other smokers, including clients on my table. My suggestion would be to try a nicotine patch, gum, or something like that on hands-on days.
One way I prevent my hands from getting dry during the day when I am doing facials is to use oils that are fragranced with essential oils such as rosemary and lemon, orange and lemongrass, clove and cardamom, lavendar and mint, any combination you prefer. Just use a good oil such as olive oil and any combination of essential oils. This may help with the smell of smoke on her hands.
Good luck with this.
Well I can't make her quit smoking so that's out, lol! Susan I'd love to try the product you are talking about, I'll send you my address asap. The essential oils might be a quick fix too, thanks for giving me some ideas. Now I just have to figure out a polite way to say 'you reek of tobacco and smoke' .... :)
She can try to use fresh dill immediately after smoking to rub her hands and to chew. Better, she can change with electronic cigarette, then is no smell for anybody (there are some with nicotine, so she will not feel the withdrawal/ I get for mom those and now I can stay close to her). Question: Is there anybody that lets her to work on them?
It is a problem finding volunteers for her to practice things on. None of my girls are smokers so they hate the smell. I did speak to her about trying to not smoke at least for the 6 hours she's at school and I also brought up the stench on her hands and how pursing esthetics would be difficult if she smelled like a pack of Marlboro's.. I'm hoping to be able to find a fix for her, at least when she's in my class. I know a lot of you said she should stop but that isn't up to me. I wish she would, it's a disgusting habit but I can't make life decisions for her. I'm just trying to make her school experience as positive and effective as I know how.
That means that she should compromise and use eCig or any other electronic cigarette at school (they have Marlboro flavor/ 18 mg nicotine/ can be bought through Amazon) . She would not pollute the air around school and she would not stink anymore, without being forced to quit the habit.
How just using lemons on her hands before she does a facial.. it's quick easy and for those who may have problems with fragrances... it wouldn't trigger any of those type of sensitivity reactions.
