This is a really good question. I will be excited to hear others' opinions. I have never peeled a client that frequently, but there have certainly been periods of time where I was spot-treating my own acne with SA peels every few days. I realize this is very different than full-face peels, though.
That is great, Kristen! I'm glad to hear that she is making progress.
I should have mentioned that I do 2-week increments with clients when they are in the initial clearing phase. For some people that means a peel each time; for others I alternate pes with enzymes (especially if they're peeling a lot from their new home care).
Hi Kristes Dugas,.....exfoliation is a simple process that removes dead skin cells from the surface of your body and face to help scrape away dead skin cells and expose newer ones, leaving your skin looking and feeling healthier. Generally, you could exfoliate face twice a week, but there are a few factors that could affect how often you should do it. If you have delicate, acne or sensitive skin, twice a week might be too much and could cause some irritation. On the other hand, if you live in a warmer climate or your skin is naturally oily, you might have to exfoliate more than twice a week to accommodate a higher buildup of dead skin cells. If you have acne and over-exfoliate, you could end up doing more harm than good. For some people salicylic peel exfoliation twice a week might just be too harsh. Don't overdo. :)
