Hello everyone!! I have a client that came in today that is having a couple of issues. She has sensitive skin and is very dry (hormonally dry in my opinion). She stopped taking hormones about a year ago. I also think she may be having some sort of allergic reaction to something and I am not sure what. She is getting dry and itchy around corners of the nose, around mouth and underneath her chin.
She is on the following
Pom Cleanser
Cuc toner
Ageless Serum and Vitamin C
Ageless Moisturizer
Sunblock
She says that the sunblock would make her feel itchy so she stopped using it. Also she said sometimes when she puts on the serums they make her a bit itchy as well so I am stumped.
Last time she came in she thinks she had a makeup reaction and now only wears a bit of blush and eye. She said her lips have been very dry as well and has been using burts bees.
Today I did pom cleanser, green tea, rasp peach (I am out of Coconut), seaweed mask to massage, an oxygenating serum and blueberry hydrating mask (another vendor), cuc toner, ageless serum and acai moisturizer. I also gave her a sample of the acai.
Would you recommend that I change her moisturizer to hydrating or acai? Also any thoughts on the sunblck or the serums making her itchy? I had given her a sample before of the scrub but I feel like she is too irritated in spots to use it.
Also, she may be suffering from some allergies and is only on blood pressure meds.
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated :). Thank you!

Hi Sheila! My skin is pretty sensitive and one of the side effects I get when my skin doesn't like something, is itchiness. Have her stop using the Vitamin C serum and see what happens. My skin doesn't react well to vit C (I get SUPER itchy!) and I have only found 1 product (serum) that I can use w/ vit c that won't irritate it. Of course, I also have dry skin so when my skin would act crazy, it would get more dry and itchy (from the dryness). I have it under control now using SS and some serums from another line. Sometimes you just have to play around.
Hope that helps! :)
Hi Sheila: This sounds like dehydrated skin to me where anything applied to the skin creates a reaction; I've seen this in very sensitive and rosacea types of skin. It tells me that the langerhan cells (immune system) is compromised a bit and creates that reaction. I like the way you are proceeding, slowly, gently, which is most likely all she needs. I like the Acai Berry as her moisturizer also. I'm not sure about the SPF causing sensitivity; possibly. I would start her slow iwth Pomegranate Cleanser, Cucumber Toner an dmoisturizer. If she feel the Ageless Serum is making her itchy, try adding it back in within a few weeks. I hope this helps!
thanks so much ladies!! I am going to back her off and just have her use those 3 products and see what happens.
