Adding more to my website
I have a website from ASCP, but it is plain and I want to spruce it up!
But I don't know how.....I can give you the link to it, if you want it and to get a idea on how to help me.
I am needing advice and cause I have an ad on "Living Social" and my website is getting more and more views and less on facebook....which is interesting but yeah i need advice.

Well, if you have not already, I would suggest adding buttons for your facebook and other social media pages you maintain. Google "add social media buttons" if your ASCP template does not have it built in.
design-seeds.com has some beautiful color palettes, and when you hover over the individual colors, you get the hexadecimal codes which you can pop straight into your html editor.
Do you have some pictures of YOUR treatment room? ASCP's stock photos are great for closeups, too, but what prospective clients really want to see is YOUR space, your face, and to read a little bit about what they will experience with you.
Also, how is your text? Consider hiring a copy writer or editor to make it as luxurious as possible. Be sure there is an easy to find page with a picture of you and a (BRIEF) blurb about your treatment philosophy. Your menu is also an obvious one for inclusion if you have not yet done so.
A Frequently Asked Questions page is also a great way to get people comfortable with coming into your space.
Finally, you want a page where you can display your products (even if you are not selling online). For good product pictures, I like to tape a piece of white table paper (for waxing) to the wall, arrange the products (and anything else you want to include in the shot - handful of blueberries, bud vase with a flower, etc.), and shoot. Google "product photography" to see how to incorporate the roll paper.
At my spa, we get hit up to donate gift certificates to charitible functions fairly often, and we pretty much always say yes, so we also maintain a page called "Community" where we list links to each of the charitable organizations websites.
We also list our "green" efforts, which include our energy-saving thermostat, recycling, paperless policy, etc.
If you have difficulty with any of this from a technology aspect, find a high schooler to trade with for acne treatments!

I have a question-I did this also but when I type the name of my website in google it doesnt come up...I am computer dumb-dumb-did u buy domain name with ascp? I have it on my facebook page, it just seems like I even set that up incorrectly....Any help would be great!

Kim, from your post you sound as though you are feeling pretty lost. You probably know more than you think you do, however in a situation where you are feeling overwhelmed, perhaps you have a client or friend of a freind who can help you get some things set up.

To answer your question, and Kim's question in one..... In order for your website to findable, you have to "optimize" it on google. If you email "Alicia" from ASCP, she will help you with that, and tell you step by step, what to do. She helped me out, a lot. However, even though my website using the ASCP web builder was optimized, I will be honest, it still took many search pages to find. If you're using ASCP's web builder, You probably have -"businessname.skincaretherapy.net" or something like that as your website URL? If so, and you're not finding your website on the search engines even after optimization, It's most likely because you need a domain name like ".com" instead.
I will tell you what I did- I started my website on ASCP, figured I am just starting out and would try to utilize this free website builder as much as I could. However, after I did pretty much everything I could on the site...I still ended up being stuck with the same questions that you have now. But then... I stumbled across "weebly.com", another legit free website builder, and all I can say is, I was hooked after the first 30 minutes of playing around with it. I ended up simply copying, pasting and editing all of my information I had worked on, onto the new weebly web builder, and going from there; And for about $35 a year I purchased a .com domain from register.com through the weebly builder (it's one or the optional features they automatically offer so the website is .com instead of weebly.com) and It automatically hooked to my new website. You can hook a .com domain to any website, (as long as your name is available), using any website builder, except I'm not sure how to do it for ASCP's. So, instead of using a domain such as ".skincaretherapy.net" (which is usually naturally going to be harder to find), now when I look my business name up on google, my website comes up as the second listing.
Also, weebly gives you muchhhh more options, one of the options I love is automatically having a mobile version of your website, the clients can choose between viewing the mobile version on their phone, or the full web version from wherever. At first, I was skeptical, how could something this great with so many advanced yet easy to use options be legit and 100% free? So I researched it, and like I said, yes it is very legit. For $3 a month, you can have the paid version of weebly which gives you even more options, which I don't even need yet - that's how advanced it is already, and advanced may seem scary, but I actually find this much easier to use, now that I got the hang of it.
Not saying ASCP's website builder is no good, it's a great utility our membership offers, but if you want to go more advanced and your website just isn't doing it for you, just isn't coming out how you really really want on their web builder, then checking out weebly may work better for you.
If you google search "spa" ".weebly.com" you can view other people's websites from Weebly (these are people who have not changed their automatic ".weebly.com" to ".com", but the website itself is still the same no matter what domain it is under), doing this search allows you to get a decent preview of what you can do yourself on weebly.
Also, whether you stick to ASCP's website builder, or try out another free one like Weebly, adding pictures makes a huge difference, you're visual advertising yourself. I feel like people don't want to just read, but they want to see...Of course really nice professional pictures are hard to find, because as you probably already know, you really not supposed to just take any picture off the Internet, good photographers obviously want to get paid somethinggg for their work. So, You can purchase and download "stock photos" at royalty-free stock photo websites such as: shutterstock.com (this is where I get my images - love it) and once you purchase the images, they are yours to use on your website or wherever, for however long you'd like. I chose to do the "pay-as-you-go" option when purchasing pictures, because it's the less expensive option, and all I need for now. And of course, you could take your own pictures too.
I will say though, what originally hooked me to weebly, was being able to create my own picture headers, using my own pictures pretty much wherever I want on the website, rather than having a small designated space to fit them in, and being able to post things like YouTube videos where I want, and "buttons" that bring the clients to other website links or pages on your site. Plus they give you about 50 different professional looking templates you can choose from, and you can customize all of them to your liking.
However, like I said if you still would rather continue using ASCP's web builder, it is still very possible to make your website look more attractive by adding pictures that are well worth the price, and by optimizing it on google, and/or hooking it up to a ".com" domain so it is more findable.
I know it's a lot to take in - I struggled with this for awhile. But once you find the right fit, you will get the hang of things, and you're biggest question will then be something like "my website is all done and looking great, now what should I post for fun?" I hope this helped!

Thank you so much for going into so much detail...this really helped. I have a long way to go...the good thing is i am still ALIVE after this first year!! Lol..Holidays I started late....well, am starting late....figured first year, website, etc is all practice. Again, I appreciate you taking time to help me and others out. Love this website!
